Other than that, they're wonderful!?I don't fly as much as some, but over the past 15 years I've flown an average of 4-8 times per year. I've almost never had a positive experience with Southwest. By a country mile, they are the worst airline I've ever used. I've had delays of 14 hours, 6 hours, 3 hours. Customer service is horrible...they're rude and not very helpful. Their seating strategy is utterly horrible. The flight attendants are obnoxious. They try to be funny, but it's annoying. The seats on their planes are terrible, and their in flight entertainment stinks. Other than that, they're wonderful.
I try my best to avoid using them whenever possible. I far prefer Spirit Airlines, Frontier, Delta, Jet Blue. However, for some places I fly Southwest is the only practical choice...so I cross my fingers, hold my breath and prepare for the worst.
Their RR points program is better in my opinion than others out there.Rapid Rewards points are so devalued now that its laughable. I checked last night and a $200 flight costs almost 13,000 points. We used to earn one flight a year, now it takes over a year to earn a one-way ticket.

I have the southwest credit card that gives a ton of perks and love it.
No, I don’t utilize the card to it’s fullest and actually plan to cancel it this year. I find that I get more value from my American Express card rewards program and offers, which are more aligned to my interests. I also can get hotels/vacation and entertainment offers through them. We do shop Petco, and the Reward tied to AE expired so I’ll check that out- but at this point we’ve kind of decided to book our last points and call it a day. It’s fine with me because I actually prefer to fly JetBlue, its DH who likes Southwest.Their RR points program is better in my opinion than others out there.
Easier to obtain points too:
~ RR Shopping Portal
~Bonus Points for certain things (I got 1,000 a couple years in a row when we did our taxes through Turbo Tax for instance)
~Surveys done
~Dining purchases with participating places (which is not tied to their credit card at all)
~Then there's if you have a SWA CC
~Hotel partners
~Rental car
~Etc.
Maybe you should look into if you're utilizing their RR Program to their fullest. I know we aren't as sometimes the deals don't work out to our advantage or we don't need to use xyz that gets us the points but we get points from flying, dining points, every once and a while using the shopping portal (sucks that Petco is now the retailer rather than Petsmart as I shop at Petsmart more often), using the SWA CC, sometimes rental car, and hotels have been once in a while.
That's not to say that points used to be worth more but I find that the case with other programs out there including hotels.
No worries just wanted to chime in on that. No, I don’t utilize the card to it’s fullest and actually plan to cancel it this year. Yeah I disliked that about Delta. That and I felt like we were the ugly step-sibling because we were lowly Skymiles CC holders (course I was zone 2 flying on miles) in a plane full of Medallion members-not that they didn't earn that just disliked the Boarding process and I know they've adjusted it and added more recently if I remember correctly.People refer to “cattle call” boarding. I find it to be more organized than others. On airlines with zone boarding, as soon as boarding begins people start hovering close to the front. They call zone 1 or 2, you have a hard time getting to the gate because a family with zone 5 is standing in the way. People push to get on first so that they can find a spot for their carryon. With Southwest, you have your number and you line up in order. No reason to get up until your letter/number is ready to line up. No one stands in the way or pushes.
