Hi all,

Going to Disney World tomorrow!!!!

The boards have been great help the last few days...thanks everyone. I'm looking for info on Pal Mickey. ANyone used it, liked it, didn't like it, etc? Also, would you rent or buy? Thanks in advance again!

Why not look under Search and find out how he faired. I've read many reports where people were tired of caring it aroung.
Check it out

We bought one last November and really thought it was lots of fun, but we did get tired of carrying him around, and worrying about him getting wet. We always carried a Disney merchandise bag around with him "just in case". When we went back in January, he waited for us in Texas. We will be going back in a couple of weeks and he will probably go with us, and we might carry him with us to each park at least once, for an "update". We love the idea, and our grandkids love playing with him at home, but he's just a little too big to carry around all day every day for us.

I think it's only $8/day or so to rent one. Why not try it out? We bought one and returned it after a couple of hours last year - it was bulky and cumbersome and hard to hear. A cute idea that needs to be smaller IMHO.

We had a coupon a few trips back for a free one-day rental, so I decided to try it out in Epcot since that's the park that my kids usually need something to occupy them. I know, some kids love Epcot - mine just are not crazy about it. Anyway, it was cute, and my daughter loved being able to announce to me what country we were heading into. But no way would I have wanted to carry it around in Magic Kingdom!

When we went in may we used the straps for the water bottles to carry ours. You just put it around mickeys neck or waist the he hangs around you r neck .

I got one for our kids in April for our surprise trip! My kids loved taking turns holding him...we found it awkard at times to STOP & listen to him...

my 6yo DD would imediately STOP in her tracks to listen to him, & tell us what he was saying. We could be in the middle of a HUGE moving crowd...anywhere...he was also a little hard to hear in crowds.

But he brought many a smile to my kids faces, so he will be going back with us in Nov.

My sister bought one of the original Pal Mickeys. He's fun now and then, but I would recommend him for cooler weather. Carrying around a fuzzy plush when it's 95+ degrees out is uncomfortable, even when you can put him on a bottle holder.

Go ahead and rent one for a day and see if you like it. I think at one point you could apply your rental fee toward a purchase (don't know if they offer that any more).

A friend bought one for our upcoming trip and gave it to my kids last night. DD, 7, has not let him go. She wanted to take him to bed and when I vetoed that she woke up at the crack of dawn to carry watch cartoons with her, lol. The other kids are letting her enjoy hom for now but when she heads for the bathroom or leaves him unattended for a second they are fighting over him! DS, 15, got up this morning and Katie came running in to show him what Debbie gave us. His comment "that's sick!" Sick being a good thing like cool, wow, psyched, etc-lol. I can't wait to see them use him on our upcoming trip and will invest in a Disney water bottle strap, that is a good idea!

We bought him this year and ended up returning him. He didnt work. We exchanged him and he still didnt work. The cast memeber in MK did say that they were having trouble with some of them. Two other people also returned theres while we were doing ours.

Great for passing time in ques and love his corny jokes and tips.Hves used ours on 4 trips now with no trouble and he does update his info on each trip.::yes:: :wave2:

We bought Pal Mickey last March and took him back with us last month. We had him reprogramed because he wasn't working when we got there. After that, no issues!

My dd carries him so I don't really have to worry about it. We just slip him in a backpack on the water rides. Only issue, 3 dds fight over whose turn it is to carry him.

My girls are 7 and 9 and last trip at 6 and 8 they shared him and loved it. We used the water bottle strap and they took turns carrying him but both could still hear. They loved the tips, trivia and jokes, more than once his tips about less crowded rides and shows proved correct.

We will bring him back on Thursday - boy I love saying that.
