Experience with MS Phone or Chat for Reservations

He's been smarter. He carefully crafted his answer to give the impression that renting to strangers is not allowed without actually saying it.
Which is even worst. Because no way he came out with that on the fly. It's a script they've been given by higher ups, to actively misdirect and mislead members.
When i asked if it was expressly prohibited he said correct. That's pretty clear to me that its prohibited, yikes!!

But look at what my MS guy said , he quickly clarified that occasional renting is allowed when directly challenged. This was also the experience reported by @Sandisw .

So who is following the script or who is interpreting the rule is IMO in doubt.

Yep, some have said it is sometimes okay when pressed, some have skirted the issue and just copy/pated the policy and refused to elaborate, and some have said no renting is allowed. So you can't just pick one to trust over the others

I am glad Sandi emailed them right away for clarification. These games aren't fair to owners that truly want to comply and are considering purchasing more when they are already making over 20 reservations a year with the points they have and do not wish to be flagged like myself.

I would like to know the exact rules before making a real estate purchase, especially when the punishment is as severe as the right for them to cancel a reservation of a family who trusted me and paid a lot of money and are excited to go on vacation. I take keeping my word to others very seriously. Not cool.

I also have a rental booked coming up in the near future for me to get to experience vdh. Could that be cancelled? Because if so, I would like my money back before I make plans and dont want to do business with a company doing things that are against the rules of my membership.

I respect my membership and paid a lot for it, I want to enjoy it for years to come and I dont want to do anything to jeopardize it.

And I would like the protection offered in Florida that if I make a real estate purchase under a set of rules that the rules are not changed without the vote of the majority and then only applied to new contracts.

We all agreed to no commercial rentals defined as not "regularly or frequently renting or selling reservations" , we did not all agree to "only friends or family".

Agree. I am not renting to friends and family. If it's family they stay for free. The friends thing I dont know... I just don't know how or why Id be doing that, I don't tell many people I have a DVC timeshare or maybe I just don't have enough friends :charac2:

Yes, but first he said it wasn’t condoned. When you pressured and asked if it was prohibited, he said yes. Had you ended the convo when he said it isn’t condoned, then it’s not technically prohibited. He had is opportunity to use “prohibited” instead of “not condoned” and didn’t for whatever reason.

I believe DVC is making this worse for themselves by having CMs give varying responses rather then directing members to the T&C and then to a legal team with questions on the T&C.

Especially when its via chat with members having evidence of what is said vs a phone call where MS has to dig through calls for the evidence of what was said on a call.

You needed witnesses for buying resale?
I screwed up, and accepted magic as the title company, so now not only do I get to pay more I also have to pay for an online notary because with the instructions they provided they mislead people into thinking Florida requires not not one and a notary, but two witnesses and a notary.

This is for selling right?

I did the same and had to print out a million papers with my own ink (yes im cheap), paid for a same day notary to drive to my house, and dragged two of the neighbors over which id rather not have them know or waste their time. That's why Magic is ✂️
