Experience offsite going to park at opening on EMH days

the least crowded and most convenient day for my group to do AK is a day with AM EMH. Regular opening is at 9, EMH at 8. How does it work if we get there at 8:30 before regular opening time? Do they have the rope drop or just walk in. Also how will lines be after the EMH? Should we just wait until noon and stay till 7P closing at AK

You won't be allowed to enter until the regular opening time. You'll just queue up with the other offsite guests. Initially all the tap points will be used for the first wave of EMH entrants. Afterward, they will hold one or two for the EMH people until it is time to let everyone in.

A morning EMH can typically cause a park to be a bit more crowded than usual for the day, but it's not a huge impact in my experience.
