Hello Experenced Dis Cruisers,

I am going to try and book a Palo Dinner (and Brunch) tonight. DH is looking forward to a nice dinner together. What do you think is the best night to book it? Ana are any times better then others?

Thanks in Advance!

We chose the second night of our cruise. That way we get to meet our "dinner mates" before leaving them for a night, then get to enjoy our last two dinners with them again (we're on a 4 night cruise).

I'm not an experienced cruiser, but I can share how my Palo schedule panned out on the first pod cast cruise.

Anna (aspen37) and Chris (columnwest) and I were planning on dining at Palo. We booked 6:30 on day 1. I had issues with the website (big surprise, right) and that was about the only open time slot. We had enough time to tour the ship and feel somewhat acclimated as well as put away our clothes and get our cabins situated. We dressed up. (Looking rather dapper/chic, if I do say so myself.) Our plan was to experience Palo and then join our table mates afterward in the main dining room for our normal dining rotation.
It worked smashingly. Dinner was nicely paced in Palo and Anna, Chris and I got to know one another, since we had only met two days prior. Once our meal was complete and we were full, we sauntered down to Animator's Palette, which was where our dining rotation had us eating that evening, to join our table mates.
Other than being full, a little over dressed, and missing the opening presentation, it was a wonderful time. Chris and I got to meet our table mates, Jeff and Val. Anna was seated with ADP and his DW and DD.
I am so glad we decided to do both instead of skipping the main dining rotation. Even though I didn't eat any food at Animator's Palette, the company was outstanding. Jeff and Val even got me to try fish. (Yuck, still. By the way.:goodvibes)

My opinion is that on a 4-night cruise the day you chose doesn't matter as much as on a 7-night cruise.

On the 4-night you should be back on the ship early enough on all nights to make a Palo dining reservation without having to worry too much about rushing around.

My suggestion is no matter what night you chose to get as early seating as possible so you can enjoy the sunset while you dine. Once it gets dark outside there's no 'view' - all you see is the reflection of the lights from inside the restaurant - not very scenic.

I chose the second night because I think that's the dressier evening, anyway. And you repeat the restaurant from the normal dining rotation on the Pirate Night the next evening. That's pretty much why I wanted the second night.

On a longer cruise, I would probably choose a night in the middle, or one of the formal or informal nights.

Good luck with the brunch. We were online at the gong and there were no reservations available. I called Disney and was told that it is very difficult to get a brunch reservation. The smug, arrogant cast member told me that you had to be a past cruiser in order to be able to book the brunch.
I guess I will have to hope for the best. :sad2::mad:
