could anyone tell me the date this attraction is supposed to open? thanks!

Last I heard was sometime in April 2006. Hopefully it will be opened when we
are there April 20th -28th!! :earsgirl:

I saw on another website that the unofficial opening is April 22nd to coincide with AK's 8th Birthday. That day is also Earth Day. I would imagine a soft prior to that date. Of course, Disney has not officially announced anything.

This is my prediction too!

To me,my next trip after December trip will be when Mount Everest is open so I hope it is in April will wait until May or June if I need to. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

When passholders and certain guest can get on the ride prior to the grand opening date. Occassionally they'll put out a day or two to allow all guest to go on it to test it out. See how people like it.
When soarin opened, there was a week in April or May that all passholders were allowed on. Unfortunatly it didn't coincide with any of our trips.

Even stores will open a bit early just to see the customer reactions. To see if they like the service, to see if the layout of the store is good. The target they just built opened like 3 nights ago, but the grand opening isn't until this week.

We were in Epcot before the opening of Test Track. The way the soft opening for that worked was they would randomly during the day open the line to the ride and let people in.

There was no notification of anyone, and if you noticed the ride was open, and it stayed open long enough, you got to ride it. I managed to ride it twice during the week we were there.

It seemed like the ride would run for about an hour or so, and then they would shut the line and adjust the ride or whatever they were doing.

Don't expect any sort of schedule or notice if the ride is in "soft open". You may get to ride it if it happens to run while you happen to be in that park AND standing near the ride so you notice it's open and can get in line quickly.

Here's crossing my fingers for the beginning of December, but I think that will be too early. pirate:

I think the passholder premiers and VIP introductions usually occur after the "soft opening" testing is done, but before the official opening date after which the ride is supposed to run all the time.

Rumor has it that Everest will have soft openings, similar to the Mission: Space and Soarin' soft openings, in early December - during MouseFest.

These openings, if the happen, would be mainly for the purpose of letting small numbers of Guests onto the ride so Disney can evaluate how well the queue areas handle traffic, and how well the ride responds to running full trains one after another. Call it a "beta test."

When we were in AK on September 28, they were already testing Expedition Everest. We were standing near the construction and looking up, when an empty car went by on the track. There still looks like there's plenty of work to do on the mountain and surrounding village, but it appears that the track itself may be complete and ready to go.

No, not just for pass holders. my family and i rode Mission:Space before it officially opened, we arnt pass holders. We saw people heading over there, and a CM was standing outside who said that the ride was running and we went right on line. they will probably do the same with EE.
