Hi,
I am a newbie here and just had an ee? I am going to Disney in July and heard that the wait times for ee have been really bad. I also heard that fast passes for ee are all gone in a few hours after the park opens. :sad1:

Please tell me this isnt true, as I want to ride it MANY TIMES!!!

Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

It is indeed true...as happens with each new attraction. Last year it was Soarin'.

Get there when the park opens, get a FastPass and then get right on the standby line. At least that way you'll be able to ride it twice right off the bat!

We just returned from WDW on 6/17 and, yes FP go quickly for EE. We went to AK on Thur (EMH at AK) and I sent DH for FP upon entry to the park around 9am while the rest of us headed for Kilimanjaro Safaris. Our return time was 12:25pm-1:25pm and we had heard that by noon all the FP were gone for the day.

On 5/13, fastpasses were gone at noon. But when we returned just before closing, the standy line was not very long -- so that may be an option for you as well.

When we went there first thing in the morning, the line to get a fastpass was MUCH longer than the standby line! Seemed like most people sent a runner to get a pass and took their time actually getting to the ride. So try the standby line a couple of times in a row first thing. :-) We were actually talking to our line neighbor about how the lines were too fast for us to enjoy the decorations in the queue!

Another tip, if you don't mind riding alone and if there is not a singles line (which honestly I don't know if there is) is don't be afraid to hold up a finger (no, not that one!) to indicate one rider to a CM near the boarding area. I've shaved off as much as half an hour of a line wait doing this at rides like Dinosaur, SM, and R&RC. It might work for EE too!

We were there the beginning of June - I agree - get there quickly, grab a fast pass, then get in line - then make sure you are conscious of the time you can get another fast pass - then get a new one then too. My 9 yo got to ride it four times the day we were there - but we did the rider switch several times (she went with my dh while I stayed with my younger daughter after I got a rider switch ticket from the cm - then when they came out - we swapped the smaller child and we went thru the fast pass line). We also got a family pass to get back on -since the very first time - as soon as she sat down on the ride - she was stung by a BEE on the leg!! Needless to say - she had to get off and get first aid, so we got on later. She looked very closely at the seat each time after that.

We were there the first week of June. We were there close to opening, got a fastpass, then waited in the standby line for 20 minutes for our first ride. We then went back for our fastpass ride. Another day we went about 1/2 hour before closing and stood in the standby line for approximately 25 minutes. The line moves very quickly.

We went over Easter and rode standby first thing, with our FP volunteer joining us in the standby line. We too walked through the line so quickly we felt like we missed some of the wonderful theming along the way. Then we returned later for the FP ride. I think Kilmanjaro is a distant second in popularity to EE -- though it's a great attraction, to be sure, and is worth sending someone (or going your self) across the park to get a FP for.

We went to WDW in early march, and was one of the few that rode it before the grand opening. I could see this ride having long wait lines, so get there early and get a fastpass. The ride itself is situated in a good area of AK, so if you haul your tail you can get to the enterance fairly quickly. As for the ride itself it IS WORTH the wait.

I rode it yesterday and I saw a singles line. There was only 1 person in it.

I also went in march before it offically opened. But I still had to get a fast pass in the morning for the afternoon and they were gone early! But go early and get your fast pass. It's worth it. But I wouldn't wait in line for hours for it. It will just give you another chance to go again. I am still waiting to go on soaring. The fast passes were all gone when we got there and there was an hour and 45 min wait. I'll go this fall. :sunny: Have a great time!

We rode in early Feb, in fact I think it was the weekend after the AP and DVC soft opening, and the lines would get pretty long by noon time. Fast past machines were not being used yet, but if they were I'm sure they'd be gone fast. Right at park closing the lines were really short, except for the EMH night where it was packed until final closing. I suggest riding EE at night, it's WAY better!

Absolutely use the single rider line. My family used it in late March and I swear we were on the ride longer than we were in line.
