Im going on a school field trip to disney on the 28th and I and my teacher were wondering if anyone knew when expedition everest is actually gonna be FULLY open???? please help !!! :Pinkbounc

Although the "official" opening is April 7, we were there this week and I can tell you that Expedition Everest is up and running, all day, every day. Fast Pass in operational at EE, and so is the on-ride photos and gift store.

So, it is essentially "fully" open now.

While I am not doubting what Deb in Iowa said above, I just want to re-emphasize that EE is not officially open. What that means is that it could be closed at any given time.

As NJBlackberry said, April 7 is opening day. Anytime between now and then you are rolling the dice.

EE is open much of the time, but not all of the time.

Good luck riding!

Bob

Hey,

You are one lucky person to go for a school trip! Is this March 28th or April 28th? They'd probably have it open if your going for a school trip. :teeth:

Have fun riding!

Was there last week and DS kept begging to go on EE and I kept reminding him what Bob P notes - "it could be closed", etc. What a surprise to see on the wait board that FP was available. We rode with our FPs in the early afternoon and then rode it 3x after 8:30-ish on EMH night. Got ride photos, toured the store, etc. One would never know it wasn't "officially open" yet. There are billboards on I-4 and one WDW channel in the resort, it is touted as the "#1 must see at WDW"!

We were just @ AK yesterday and rode EE 3 times, it is one of the best rides @ WDW. They even had fast pass running as well as phots and gift shop. There were some really cute t shirts for sale. Although I know the officaily opening isnt until april. Here in tampa, fl, they are running TV, radio and newpaper ads advertising the ride. Hope you get to ride it. HAVE fun!!!

We just got back from spring break at WDW. It was our first visit and we did all four parks and we all agreed that Animal Kingdom was our FAVORITE park! One of the big reasons is Expedition: Everest. It was running every day, although on one day there was a sign that said it would close at 4:00 p.m. We rode it four times. The regular queue line is fascinating in its detail and realism. The FP line is much briefer, plus we were always going through at a fast walk, so we didn't see much of it. The ride is great and the photos are the best of any of the WDW rides: very sharp, really well integrated with the Yeti's hands (paws?) and the cool train cars. We got a final set of fast passes and gave them to a family as we were leaving and they were entering AK.

They have it running but have to close it occasionally. What I think is...they can't classify it as officially "open" until those random closings can stop so that when people complain that they "came just to ride Expedition Everest" and now that it is closed they "wan't" their money back. Considering it isn't officially open, cast members can't give them the money back. I don't know, this is just a guess lol.
