Just got back today (trip report to follow soon...promise!), having had 2 weeks of remarkably good weather.
As annual pass holders, we got the chance to preview Expedition Everest at AK!!!
It really is a great ride, with some CLOSE encounters with the YETI!.
The ride goes forwards and backwards (quite similar to Revenge of the Mummy at Universal), and the final drop is amazing (think Jurrasic Park with a Yeti instead of a Tyrannsaurus Rex, and no water!)

We turned up nice and early to ride thinking no-one else would be there....and joined about 3,000 people in the queue (although thanks to some deft manouvering, we were very close to the front of the line, and managed to get a Fastpass to go on again!

When this opens officially in May, the lines are going to be LONG....

Well worth the wait though.

Is it only open to Annual Pass holders? We are hoping we can get on it with staying on Disney property? ;)

Welcome back, hope you had a fantastic time :)

How wonderful that you had a chance to do EE, it sounds great.

Jtlover, I think until its official opening in May, that it can only be previewed by DVC owners and guests with annual passes, although I may be wrong. :goodvibes

It was only open from Thurs until today (for this preview at least) to AP holders and DVC members.

Sounds fantastic ~ Thanx for sharing.

We were there for the AP/DVC preview on Thursday. I'm being a bit pedantic here (OK, a lot pedantic), but the big drop isn't actually at the end - it's after the backwards section where you meet the projected Yeti in the cave. The audio-animatronic Yeti at the end is followed by a very tame BTMR style sweep. Also, the backwards section is much longer and way more intense than The Mummy.

There were CM previews early last week, followed by the AP/DVC preview Thursday through today. From what I've read on the internet, there will now be soft openings to the general public. Some of those staying onsite over the next few weeks have received emails indicating such. After that, I'm guessing it will open well ahead of the previously slated April launch.

Can't wait to do this in August!
