Expedition Everest? What’s going on?

Who knew, building a yeti in a mountain is just as bad as building a ship in a basement :)

Just a
Oh no... maybe I just had my eyes open this trip. Although my DD thought it was different too. :confused3
Nope, Not different. Yeti can't be fixed without taking the ride apart.
And they haven't taken the ride apart.
But you aren't the first to think it's been fixed over the years.
Just shows you how well the Disco Yeti can really fool people.

I swear there are different things going on each time we ride. In years past I have not noticed anything as you exit the mountain. The only yeti we saw was the shadow before you go backward. Last year I swear (and my daughter agrees) that there was some cartoon-like image of a yeti on the left side right before you exit the mountain. We both remarked we had never seen that before (is that disco yeti?). This year nothing on the left but the animatronic was lit up on the right as you exit. Totally not moving but lit so you could see it (I don't think there was a strobe on it but it's possible). It's definitely possible that it's been lit before and I just haven't noticed it but I don't think so.

Am I crazy? Suffering from altitude sickness (Hypoxia?) when I get to the end of the ride?

EE was having some issues when we were there last week. It was closed down most of the day on Friday.

EE was down most of this past Sunday, too. We arrived to our 1:50 FP time and the FP queue was not quite to Dinoland. The CM said it had been down for 4 hours that morning, but they were trying to honor the Fastpasses outside of the window, thus the long line. We skipped it, and then when the huge thunderstorm hit, EE was closed again for another hour or so (at least-- we didn't try to go back and ride).

LOL... Maybe y'all always close your eyes at the same place on the ride?

That is the statue of a Yeti as you exit the last cave near the end of the ride, not a cartoon but a full fledge former animatronic. At the beginning of the ride's life it moved but the movement of the coaster broke it and it can't be repaired so they added a strobe effect to make it appear to move (hence, the disco comments) and that's always on, so it's always lit and always strobing.

If that ever happens and you see a line like that again, don't let it scare you. They move folks fast (to the determent of stand by guests) and it doesn't take long to get on at all. We hit a line like that a few months ago.

Thanks-- We had a FP for Navi River to get to, and didn't want to waste time in the line in case it stopped again (and with Sunday's weather-- that was likely!). We figured we'd hit it later, since they said they'd honor FP late for EE that day, and wandered to the Dawa bar and into Pandora.
And then the big rain hit, right after NRJ, so we blew off EE. No worries-- not like we haven't done it before, and we'll do it again on another trip!
As you know, itineraries can be more relaxed when you go to WDW often enough.

Totally right there with ya.
Shhh.... don't tell anyone, because they'll think I'm certifiable, but DH and I actually blew off FoP FP last trip. Not once, but twice!
Yes, before folks freak out, we cancelled them both times so folks benefited from our change in plans.
