Expedition:Everest Village

Has anyone heard anything about what might be in the village at Expedition:Everest?Is there any chance of a full-service restaurant since AK only has one?I think there might be a SMALL chance of a gift shop!LOL I was there a month ago and the village is really looking impressive.

I think there was talk of a full-service restaurant, but on another board I frequent, there is a poster who is an imagineer working on Everest and he commented that there will be no full-service restaurant.

As much as I'd like a full service restaurant in AK, Tusker House is very good. Do you think that maybe Disney has a contractual obligation to not have table service restaurants at AK because of Rainforest Cafe having the location just outside he gates??

Possible, but I suspect that such an agreement would be limited in duration. Disney never closes a door.

Well, perhaps. D-MGM only had the two restaurants, and before Fantasmic, was only open late a small part of the year.

I thought the Studios opened with the 4 sit downs?

Everest is expected to open May 2006. We are hoping for a soft openning - we will be there in late April.

We were there in April this year and construction was jamming. The coaster was finished and now they are building around it to cover it. The village looks very cool, but I did not see anything large enough for a sit down meal. It looks like they will have about 5 or six store fronts for shops, snacks and stuff.

It looks like it will be a big sell!
