*magical moment*
did any of you know you could tour the control room of expedition everest? i sure as heck didn't!
So when a cm came up to me and asked me and my dad if we wanted of see the control room i nearly fainted! :teeth: First let me say.....wow! i was on cloud nine! :cloud9: i got to see every camera they have monitering the ride and see the yeti. I also learned lots:
~the yeti is a she

~there are 5 trains

~only 4 trains run

~at the top (before you go backwards) you can see MGM,Epcot and the cms said when they walk the track they can see MK

~the moniter every time the ride stops and its a light up board and when you stop the light goes on and when you go to the next stop it lights up

~they can stop a train without stopping the whole ride

~it rides all on a computer (which i already know but its impressive to see this computer control everything!

~and i believe she said the broken track at the top also filps but my eyes were stuck on the yeti hehe

We go to see the track flip and some very scared guest :rotfl: and then we got to ride in the front row and also saw the track flip again! We got a certified paper that stated that this was a magical moment! I hadn't seen anyone mention this so i just had to share!

For a sec there, I thought you meant this tour was available to just anyone but it sounds like it was one of the wishes! That's awesome. Glad you had a chance to do this!

Awww this brought back memories of my College Program at Splash Mountain and the Tower of Splash. Aren't the Towers of the attractions absolutely amazing? I wonder if this is one of the "wishes granted" for the YOAMD promo. I would have LOVED to have taken Guests to the Tower of Splash and show them the procedures for powering down the ride, how to undo an automatic ride stop, etc., etc., etc. :) This post just made me so happy!

Yes we saw a boy and his dad do this on Star Tours. It really is a great Magic Moment .

Yea and the cms were funny as heck, the lady goes oh theres the yeti and turned to me and said do you want to know why its a she? and i answered yea and she said well its got to be with all that attitude! :rotfl: i did get videotape of the front row ride but i have to figure out how to get it on the computer first  let me tell ya the force of going down the drop surprised me so much that i fell back into my seat, my dad who was operating the camera almost dropped it! and on the video you can hear the force of it on the camera and also so my im going to die scream :rotfl2:

awh, that sounds like it was so cool. Congratulations on you magical moment. I'm "wishing" that we get something like that too.

wow, that was really special, I'm glad you had the experience to share, you and your Dad together. A special moment you will always cherish.

That is awesome!

What an opportunity you got. Thanks for sharing the details. :)

We were at AK 2 weeks ago, and EE was the first thing we rode. I rode with my DS, age 8. We didn't see the yeti, and my DS said they were "having technical difficulties!" LOL!! Tonight, I searched the forum, and found a post that said if the yeti wasn't working properly, you couldn't see it well, and there were strobe lights that were there, and you really wouldn't see the yeti. Apparently, my DS was right, they were having technical difficulties!

The track flips like when you go backwards and then you go down the drop, the track flips so you go down the drop not back where you went backwards lol sorry for the mispellings!

I wasn't too interested in the "wishes," but this post made me change my mind. I would love to visit the control room at EE. Perhaps, since I'll be a solo visitor, I might get lucky. I also think it would be neat to be backstage at one of the top shows at WDW, such as Finding Nemo: The Musical, or Beauty and the Beast.

Dream on, huh?

Enjoy.

What a great thing to be able to do!! Thanks for sharing.
