Expedition Everest Question

My son has commented more about the shadow of the yeti that is pulling up the tracks at one point. I don't even know if he actually saw the "real" yeti. And I haven't mentioned it.

EE was our younger DS's first rollercoaster and he loved it! He was 5 also and we happened to be at AK when they were doing a soft opening and didn't even expect to be able to ride it. He absolutely loved it and it's still one of his favorites at 15. But he won't do RnR or ToT.

As others have said the Yeti is not that scary anymore. When it first opened it moved more and even then wasn't that scary. If you prepare him that there is a Yeti and make it more about it being fun that you have to escape it and go fast, he'll probably be excited about it. Both DS's got EE pins after we rode it and they have little Yeti plush too.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, we are definitely going to FP it for this trip. It sounds like he will love it!

My kids loved it from an early age. The dark backwards part has always been their favorite! (Mine, too...)

And, I never knew the Yeti was there for the first handful of rides, either..

My Grandson went on Everest at age 5. He thought it was scary but he did go right back on it again.

EE is like BTRR or 7DMT+ so only a bit more wild and scary.

Ehhhhhh. Sure, it's a "out of control mountain train" ride. But significantly higher. Like "Hey, I can see Epcot from here!" higher. I'm not sure "a bit" is the right qualifier.

I think if he is thrill seeker and likes roller coasters he'll love it. My 6 year old rode it with me on the our last visit and she didn't mind the Yeti or the backward part but hated the big drop. She didn't like it and is adamant she will not ride it on our next trip in September (she is now 9) however she is also not a big thrill rider. She also hated ToT on the same visit. Goofy's Barnstormer is more her style :)

Do you mean the MOVING yeti? Or the static one? :-)

You barley have time to register the Yeti on EE......and to me it looks like a giant Ewok...not scary at all...not if it actually moved as intended.....

It is a great ride. However, when you go backwards I feel like you are going upside down because of the upward helix.

Everest is currently my 5 year old daughter's favorite ride. She isn't particularly brave, but she does LOVE roller coasters. She hates ToT and Space Mtn. but will ride Dinosaur.
