My husband and I have decided to leave on Friday Jan. 27 at 6:00pm and we are going to drive all night long. We will get to Disney around 6:00am on Jan. 28 and then we are hoping to sleep a few hours before the parks open. Then we are going to go ride Everest as many times as they will let us. We are staying that night and then we are leaving bright and early the next morning to drive home. It's about a 12 hour drive one way.

Do you think we are crazy?

Who else is as crazy as we are?

For those of you who have done previews before, should we expect to wait inline all day or are the rides walk on?

Do they only let each DVC member ride once? If so, we are also annual pass holders so, does that mean that we get to ride once for each (AP & DVC)?

If you plan on making a trip just to ride Everest, I would love to hear your story!!

See you all there!

We had originally planned to be at WDW from 1/30 thru 2/3. Then I heard about the EE preview so we added the 29th to our stay so we could try and ride EE on Sunday afternoon. I have no idea about the crowds or how they work out how many times you can ride it. We are DVC members and Seasonal Passholders so we got the message from both sources.

Count us in on equally crazy!!!

We are going because of Everest! and it is a funny story, and since you asked... I'll tell it.

Sometime after 11:00 pm Christmas Day:
DH and I are up with 5 week old new baby, exhusted.

DH: What do you want to do?
me: I tivo'd a Disney thing on the History Channel - Let's watch that

Show starts ... opening montage

DH: Hey! This is new... look Everest is almost complete
me: Yeah! It's finished, DVC members get a preview
DH: When?
me: I don't know, sometime at the end of January

I look over, laptop is already whipped out

DH: Jan 26 - 29. We should go (kiddingly, I think)
me: HAY YEAH! LET"S GO
DH: Really????
me: Pull up Southwest

computer stuff...

DH: LOOK! There is a Ding for $34
me: BOOK IT!!!
DH: Really??? Can we get a studio?
me: I find one. BOOK IT!!!
DH: What about the kids?
me: My mom will watch them. BOOK IT!!!
DH: Can we really do this??
me: BOOOOK IT!!!! This Ding will expire in 9 minutes! BOOOOOOOOK IT!!

So we are staying in a studio at SSR. Mom will watch the kids. DH will take Friday off. We fly down Friday am, fly back Monday am - arrive home just in time to make DH 30 min late for work.

I get a weekend off!!!! I am running away from home. The toddler and the baby will just have to make it without me. The only plans we have include: Sleeping (lots) Boozin (lots) and riding Everest (lots) We will throw in all other Hight Restricted rides at some point after Sleeping, Boozin, and Everest!!!

We already had a trip booked to SSR for Jan. 24-28 with DH, DS(12) and DD (9 months).

I was so happy when we got the news about the Everest preview that I started screaming & jumping up & down. DS thought I had lost my mind, but I LOVE coasters...love, love, love!!! (The only other place I like nearly as much as WDW is Cedar Point in Ohio!)

This is just the over-the-top best, coolest bonus for this trip that I could ever imagine!

WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!

DW and I already had a trip planned Jan 26th to Feb 1 and before they came out with the announcement I told her that if they ever offered a preview for AP or DVC, we were going. Then the announcement came! Wahoo!

We'll be in line on the 26th, 27th 28th and 29th. I am willing to bet though, you'll need a fast pass to get on.

See ya there.

I was so happy to hear about the preview that I neglected to figure out the details...how do we DVC-ers get fastpasses??

Not sure how they'll distribute them, but message said that fast passes would be availabe. Maybe the membership cards fit in the fast pass machines.

DH and I really enjoyed your story!!! This will be the first time that we will get to go without kids! So we can really relate to the whole, "go crazy when away from the kids" idea!! Maybe we will see you around.

As for the fastpasses... I read somewhere that they are testing the fast pass system as part of the preview. I suspect that we will get fast passes with our park tickets just like any other ride. I'm all for it if it means that we don't have to wait in a long line!!!!

See you All There!!!

We'll see you guys there--we will be at SSR 1/25-1/29. :cool1:
Can't wait to see the ride and get our commemorative lanyard and pin :flower3:

DW & I have planned this trip since last year ... We invited my folks to tag along and secured a studio for them... then we get the news of the preview. Excellent!!

After experiencing KATRINA and all that goes along with losing everything, this trip is soooo needed by all of us. I might have lost my home to a hurricane and oil spill. However, I did not lose my "DVC HOME" and I was not canceling this trip for anything!

Just checked out Inside the Magic Podcast's video ride through of Everest! It was awesome. Go to Itunes to subscribe if you haven't already!!

We'll be there--can't wait! After all this planning and waiting, I can't believe it's finally packing time. :jumping1: :moped:
