Expedition Everest Opening ?

I've seen several posts dealing with Cast Member's reactions to the new Expedition Everest, but no mention of when the ride opens for us regular WDW visitors without any special connections.

Question: When does EE open for the general public?

April 7 is the official opening day with a media event. But there will be soft openings between now and then.
