Expedition Everest Challenge!

I just registered with my DD for the 5k on May 7 at Animal Kingdom! Anybody else up for the Challenge?

Im so excited to hear of another Canadian signing up!! Me and DSiL have signed up as a team for the race...this will be our first one (and my first race of any kind EVER) so we're really excited!!

This will also be my DSiL first ever trip to Disney so we're making a week of it staying at POP, CBR, and CR (we're crazy, I know!)

my daughter runs cross country in school but I have never entered anything like this before either! When we read about it... the run, the scavenger hunt and the party... it looks like so much fun!

Thanks!! This is the 3rd year for the EE Challenge, last year it was held in June and the first year was in September...I can't even imagine trying to run a 5km in the September humidity!! Glad they moved it to May!

I would love to do it this year with Dh, but it is not in the cards financially. Our goal in next year. We could actually go to WDW without the kids! Woo Hoo!

Sorry, I was trolling around the board and had to comment on the challenge. IT IS THE MOST FUN I'VE EVER HAD AT WDW!!!!!! You will absolutely LOVE it. The people are so friendly (very few 'serious runner' types that could potentially suck some of the fun out of it)...

Unbelievably well organized and well-run...wouldn't expect anything less from Disney.

And the after-party is super fun with a lot of AK's best attractions open.
My friend and I (Team Beverly Lightning last year...still working on a name for this year) had way more fun than we ever thought possible.

SO excited that you're doing it. You'll have an AMAZING time!!!

Glad to hear that this isn't only for "serious runner" types...we are certainly not that! We wanted to try something different and this looked perfect!

Anyone know how hard the scavenger hunt is?

I'll be running the EE challenge this year. This is our second year, last year they also did the marathon and this year the Goofy. I max out my support at the 5k mark .

The puzzles aren't that bad. One thing we noticed last year is that they are setup in a logical direction, so if you find yourself going against the crowd -- you're likely going the wrong way.

I'd love to do that race but not this year. I just did the Princess Half and doing the Wine & Dine in October. Have fun
