Looks like an East Coast Star Wars half marathon is coming for 2016,it will likely be a major Run Disney weekend,kids races,5K and half marathon.

Possibly, maybe that's why the packet pick up is at AK since they would need ESPN for packet pick up for the SW???? Hmmmm

I think they just meant moving up Star Wars weekends at DHS,I would be shocked if they have a Star Wars race this year,and more shocked if its on the same weekend as Everest,it is weird that packet pickup is at AK though.

It's possible that could be why it's being discontinued. But it could also be that 2016 has a conflict with construction within Animal Kingdom with an eye toward rebranding a new AK race following completion of Avatar Land. Or it could be construction interferes with 2016 and Parks is unwilling to host an AK night race beyond that as they'll be working to have people stay in the park into the night time hours.

For Annual Passholders - I did it through the "Tink link" as well.

After logging in to the Passholders page, go to Events and Special Offers. Scroll down, click on the "Passholders! Enjoy Early Registration for runDisney Events" header. Click the link in the paragraph of the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend subheading. That should bring you to the page where you can click a link to begin registering, either "Expedition Everest - INDIVIDUAL" or "Expedition Everest - 2 PERSON TEAM". If the "Tink link" leads you to a page that says "SORRY", try deleting the part of the link that says "sorry/", and hit enter to reload the page. This worked for me after a couple of tries. Alternatively, you can probably just re-click the "Tink link" from the prior page a couple of more times, and it should load up eventually.

I just re-created this process, getting the "Sorry" page several times, but after reloading the page, the links came up and I was able to get in to the actual registration page.

EDIT: I just went through the same process again, and it took about 8 attempts at reloading the page from the "Tink link" to actually get off the "Sorry" page and actually see the registration links. Just keep trying, and it should go through eventually.

I am so torn. I did this race for the first time last year and loved it. I'd love to do it again, but in terms of where my training plan will be and also just thinking budget, doing the Broad Street Run would be the better choice in all ways but one. It's not Disney. And knowing this will be the last running of Everest makes the choice even tougher.

Ugh! I need to get registered, but alas, the vacation account is still a little low. We normally space our trips about 11 months apart so I can save, but this one is coming just six months after our last one. I will be watching both this race and our flights very carefully. Right now, I have enough funds to book one or the other, but not both. I want to make sure that I will be able to get both of them before I commit to non-refundable purchases.

We are unexpectedly in for 2015 after only planning Goofy and Avengers for 2015. Family had a good time running last year, so it's become our Christmas present to run with them again. So glad we had done it before and looking forward to doing it one last time before it's gone!
