Hi

has anyone used expedia for car hire. They are coming in a fair bit cheaper than others for my trip in dec. Just wondered if anyone rates them?

No problems at all using them last Easter when we were stuck for 4 days with the ash cloud, they are one of the few companies you can book online then go collect same day.

If you post details, dates, car size, collection point I will check price for you if you want, I find them expensive, only yesterday I posted in a thread, they were £100 more than another quote I found.

Thanks my dates are nov28 to dec 10 looking for a 4x4 . Expedia were showing about 309. Can i get cheaper

Cheapest I see is Carhire3000 via Quidco.

Class: Intermediate SUV
Jeep Liberty or Similar
£258.01

Less 7% (£18.06) = £239.95

Or if you take Premium package (incl tank of gas and extra drivers) £315.50 less 7%. Just over £50 extra.

If you are interested in the upgraded package another option is Netflights.com, Ford Escape (or similar)
This rental would be Thrifty(Dollar) £313.12 but only an extra £1.03 to add Platinum, making a total of £314.15 less 5% Quidco = £298.49

Personally I would go for the Netflights(Thomas Cook) offer for 3 reasons,
I have used them for over half my trips to Florida without 1 problem ( another booked with them for August)
Never had a problem with cashback with them.
They are about £58 more than £239.95 quote above but I prefer to have a tank of gas included & add DW incase of emergency.

Hope that helps.

Wayne your a star!!:cool1:

I just booked the Carhire 3000 via quidco. 4x4 jeep or equ. Did not go for the extra driver as there is only me driving so thanks to you have saved quite a chunk! Will probalbt try and bring the car back full or prepay for Gas.

Oddly they dont tell you online who the care hire is with, called them after booking and its with Dollar, which means hopefully I be able to use my express card (if I can find it)

Cheers

Gav

Glad you saved some money.
I have our 1st car in August booked via Auto Europe, they were same, don't tell you who it is until you have booked, voucher came thru for Dollar. I hope to use my Express card also.
2nd car I booked thru Netflights/Thrifty, don't know if its worth joining their scheme.

Similar to above but slightly more money, Carhire3000 £279.20 less 7% Quidco. = £259.66

If you wanted tank of gas & extra drivers then netflights.com, £374.92 but add Platinum and it reduces it by £39, 5% cashback, final cost should be £317.18

Check as many sites you can find though, always chance I missed a bargain somewhere.
