Stacerita said:BOMA - The food was good, and the place was neat, but it was no where near all the hype. For months before we went I read reviews where people raved about how great the place was. I then in turn hyped it up to the sweetpea and my friend. Its not that the place was bad, or that the food wasn't good. It was good, we ate well, but I was expecting something WOW. It just didn't live up to the hype. I may try it again.
Same here.
I was saved from it at Beaches and Cream. I have high expectations for "the best burgers and malts" from a now closed restaurant I used to frequent at home - angus hamburger on rolls baked that morning with Maytag blue cheese and homemade ketcup and fries. Malts made from small batch ice cream made locally. Our dear Ducklite was, I believe, the person who said, 'oh no dear.'
And I try to be really careful about Le Cellier - its one of our favorites and a really good restaurant for the price. But when I see it described as "the best" steak, I wonder if the people making the claim have ever had a really great steak - or if my two visits to Le Cellier have been substandard.
