Expect Airline Delays

This is my husband's justification for why we take early am flights - thunderstorms usually occur in the afternoon, and am flights are not usually delayed. It is great when you are going to Disney, but having to be up for the ME bus at 6:45am is no fun :sad2:

I'm taking a 9:40 AM flight to Orlando on June 16th. If there are going to be delays, should I book an earlier flight??

That's why I try not to fly into, or out of, Orlando after 2:00 pm. I have flown out around 6 pm and gotten held up due to severe weather (thunderstorms) in NE...now that's unusual. But, those mid-afternoon thunderstorms in central Florida are something to see, especially if you are arriving at MCO, on a plane!!! Lightening all over the place. It's scary.

Diane, they really just land the planes in all that lightning :scared1: . Who needs thrill rides :rotfl2: ?

We are coming in at 5pm this summer. Sounds like prime time for a show :goodvibes .

Hey Maryann!! How goes it?? Yes, it is quite a show. I thought Katie was going to have a heart attack when she saw that lightning around the plane. It really is further away than it looks though. We'll say hi to Mickey for you next week!!!!

We're leaving on a 9:40 AM flight to Orlando in 2 days. Gets in around 12:30 -- You'll be fine, wouldn't change a thing (unless the fare was better). :wizard:

Next week we will be going to Orlando, but our flight is at night. I think we leave MHT(Manchester NH) after 7pm and arrive in Orlando around 10pm. When we fly out it will be in the early am.

Thank you for all the info - we try to avoid thunder boomers when we fly to WDW in the summer.

We leave at 7:30 AM and arrive MCO 10:20 AM (hope for no lightening)

Coming back we have a 11:20 AM MCO flight - hope to get out before the afternoon lightening show.

Do our flight times sound ok to try to avoid thunder boomers ?

We once flew in during a rain storm and our plane dropped a few feet (I guess) - felt like a drop on a roller coaster. A bit scary :scared1:
