Existing member closed on second contract - account question

Here's a question a friend just asked me and I wasn't 100% sure but knew someone on the DISboards would know! Thanks!

Just closed on my second DVC property, they have different UY, will I have an additional member number? Will the contract just be added to my current member number with a different contract number? Just wondered if it will show up with my current log in on the DVC website or if I will have to wait for the info from MS...thanks!

Two memberships, two accounts, twice as much to keep track of, may be under one login depending on how the deeds are titled and if DVC follows what they have done in the past.

With extremely limited exception it's treated as if it's 2 different owners. The exceptions are really 2. That they may be able to view both accounts under one sign on and that in very special situations DVC may waive the transfer rules related to transferring banked/borrowed points.

I just did this and the second account showed up on my DVC online account before I had received anything in the mail about it. Two different membership numbers but everything together under one account login. I signed one form that the Timeshare Store provided saying I already had an account. Other than that, I put no effort into it and DVC managed to link the two accounts. I think you can't split points between accounts for a single night stay but otherwise could link reservations made with the two accounts.
