Do you add in your "activity points?" I know you can get "extra" points if you exercise, so do you add those to your daily points available?

No. I don't want to think that I am exercising just to be able to eat more food. I want to exercise because it is good for me. :)

I do not use them either pretty much for the same reason Becka doesn't use them. However, I also haven't had the need to use them. I suppose if on a workout day I am hungry and have used all of my points I might consider it, but at this time I don't.

I don't use my exercise points either, for the same reason as others. I hope that with not using those points it is helping out a little more.

I don't eat them either, mainly because I'm in an exercising slump and DON'T HAVE ANY ACTIVITY POINTS!!!! I wish I did!!! But when I was exercising regularly I didn't use them.

I don't know whether this is true but my WW leader said the results she's seen with her group is if someone has a lot to lose (100 lbs.) and they eat their activity points they are fine but someone with a little to lose it makes their weight loss stall.

It looks like we're all in agreement -- I don't eat mine either 'cuz I figure I need all the help I can get! ;)

My mom is on WW and she too does not use them, either.

So I wonder, why do they give you points for exercise? I mean doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of exercising to BURN calories ?

I am just curious about what others think, especially those who are on the program.

Usually, NO I don't use them, However- on a day that I've trained heavily with free weights, it's not unusual for me to use them, because for some reason using heavy weights sends my appetite THROUGH THE ROOF.

I've backed off of the weight training because I was only losing about 1/2 a pound each week and I need to lose about 30 pounds, so for now I'm only doing aerobic exercise and I won't eat those activity points.

Just another thought to add, our WW leader also said you must eat your exercise points if they make you go under your minimum points for the day. For instance if your range is 20-25 and you eat 20 points you are at your minimum. If you exercise and earn 3 pts. but don't eat them then essentially you have burned 3 pts. and you're at 17 for the day so you must eat 3 more pts. to reach minimum. If you ate at your high end and earned 3 pts. you'd still be at 22, which is within your range so its okay to not eat them. I hope this makes sense!

I am not doing the points system, officially. I just exercise and follow my eating program. I have one cheat meal a week, so I am betting that the exercise I do all week acts like a cushion to keep me from maintaining/gaining from the cheat meal! ;)
