Excuse my ignorance but question about the Gulf Coast Beaches

Being that we are from the Pacific Northwest and have no clue what is happening down south........we hear very little now about the oil spill and how the beaches on the Coast are being or are not being affected. We are planning a day trip to the Clearwater area during our stay. The beaches are ok aren't they?? I was sure I would have seen something on here if they were not.

The beaches are perfectly fine and have been. Aside for a few areas in Florida nothing else was affected.

Thank you. I am so glad to hear that, not for our trip, but just in general. The forecasts of what was ahead for those beaches was so devastating. I am glad to hear that it didn't turn out that way.
