Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Hey Lisa,

Finally all caught up, I haven't been on in a while. I hate when life gets in the way.

Yall are too funny! John taking a siesta had me laughing. :rotfl:

Looks like a fun Christmas, love the decorations. Don't necessarily like the ice, even though your pics are beautiful. I'm a summer girl. I don't like this cold weather we've been having in South Louisiana.

Jaime

Seriously? You have a lucky streak going! This was the first time I've gotten twins.

We haven't gotten them every time but the last two or three! :goodvibes

I am now all caught up! I was about 15 pages behind!! :( Loved John's Hombre pictures! So funny!! And Coral Reef looks delish!!

Don't you just love the southern weather?! January had rain, tornadoes, snow/ice, lows in the 20's and it got to 80 one day last week...WHAT!?!?! :confused3

:rotfl:

I wonder if that is a cottonwood, or something like that. I just know there is a certain time of year when they "shed" and I sneeze all the time then.

Dinner looks great. We still need to get there and give it a try.

I'm not sure what the tree is but I plan on asking our tour guide if we do the Behind the Seeds tour again. Maybe they will know.

Love John's hombre look! I'm cracking up at his napping. :teeth:

I want to try to take a nice picture inside someday. The restaurant inside and the temple are just beautiful.

I've alway wanted to try Coral Reef, but have gotten voted down. Someday! Good to know the info about picky eaters, cuz Kadence is one!

I think that he'd make one heckofa hombre and we all know that he's gotten the siesta part down pat.

Hunter and Lacey are some of the pickiest eaters I know and they love Coral Reef.

Your meals look so yummy! Every time I see pics from Coral Reef I want to eat there. It's been far too long!

So, you've tried it before? Our family is not big on trying different foods so I try to stick with someplace that has at least one meat and potatoes kind of entree.

Okay so forgive me please but I haven't read in a while so I have lots of comments because I had lots to catch up on but I made it :yay: Oh oh oh I remember the exact episode of Happy days that you mentioned,I miss that show!!!
After seeing your Christmas pics I've officially decided I'm moving in dang it!!!!your house is my dream house,I love log cabin homes with lots of wood on the inside too,it's perfect!!!!
My kids also get new pajamas on Christmas and I've always rolled them up when I wrap them so they are always asking when they can open their "Christmas sausage"
OH MY GOSH!!!!! where did you find those giant chocolates I NEEEEEEEED those ...yup my everyday survival depends on it.
Oh and Coral Reef I love it there and have been many times but unfortunately have always been sat as far from the tanks as possible because each time I've gone I've had a large group.
I can't wait to read more and wanted to ask if you're doing a pre tr for the upcoming trip...hope to see u there!

Love me some Happy Days! They used to show it on TV Land but it's been a while since I've seen an episode.

Come on over! We've got an extra bedroom in our house. Well, I say that it's an extra but I've kind of turned it into a sewing/work-out room. Okay, let me correct that...we store our work out equipment in the room and I keep my sewing supplies in the room.

The giant chocolates came from Target. They were $9.99 each. Except for the Hershey Kiss, I think it was about $5

It's too bad that you've not been able to get a table closer to the tank at Coral Reef. But, we've been seated in one of the top tables and our view was still pretty good.

Once I start the pre-trip report, I'll be posting a link here.

I am back reading your Tr and I love all the Xmas pictuees. Your house is lovely and I love your new decorations. I love your old cookstove. I have one also. I love antiques and have a small antique business. I especially collect old kitchen things. Anyway I also spoil my kids and grandkids at Xmas....I love Christmas! And your ice pictures are great. We of course have a lot of snow and ice in Vermont but never with leaves on the trees or berries. Thanks for sharing.

We have our dates set for Disney 11/30-12/7. Had to wait for my son to get his vaction set. Now we can start planning, looking for discounts, making ADr....oh I am excited already.:woohoo:

John did some work for an older gentleman and knew that he wouldn't be able to charge him as much as what the work was actually worth. So, he asked the man if he wanted to trade out something. The stove was underneath his carport and was in several pieces and we had to put it back together. That sucker was heeeeeavy!

I'm so glad to hear that you've finally gotten the dates firmed up. Let the planning begin!

Just catching up with everything. We ate at Coral Reef back in 2011. The atmosphere is top notch! Very beautiful place to eat. We even got a table right next to the tank and it was very cool to watch the fish and divers swim by as your eating. We were not impressed with the food though.

DW said she wasn't interested in eating there again :confused3, but I'm game for giving them another shot. The atmosphere just makes the food taste a little better! :thumbsup2

Maybe I can talk her into another chance.

Oh man! I guess that we're pretty easy to please when it comes to food. I'm always willing to give a restaurant another shot if the atmosphere is good.

Hey Jaime! Good to "see" you again. I'm not a Winter weather kind of girl either. I'd rather be hot than cold.

We haven't gotten them every time but the last two or three! :goodvibes

:rotfl:

We had that same sort of weather. One day, it was 76 when I left work and the next day it was 40 when I left. No wonder everybody keeps getting sick.

Why are there trees in Epcot anyway?
I don’t remember exactly how long we were in Coral Reef but I’m thinking about an hour, maybe a little longer. The monorail was just entering the park and I took what turned out to be a blurry picture:

DSCF3878.jpg

We decided to walk back towards the lagoon and see if we could find a spot to watch Illuminations! We didn’t get to see it the year that Mama went with us because she was too tired and, while I am sure she wouldn’t have complained had we asked, we decided to skip it and hoof it to the bus stop before everybody else did. I was determined that we would see it this trip though.

We got to the end of the main walkway and took a right. Crowds! We turned around and looked to our left. Crowds! What about semi-straight ahead? Yep, I saw a few openings and we ducked in and found a spot. This was our view:

DSCF3886.jpg

Not too bad for not staking out a spot way ahead of time. We plopped down and waited for the show to start:

DSCF3890.jpg

DSCF3891.jpg

Where we were seated is a kind of wide walkway and, as it got more and more crowded, we tucked our legs in and tried to make sure that there was enough room for people to get by. Unfortunately, others weren’t so friendly and clogged up the entire walkway which also meant that our view was being blocked. Some people were standing up right in front of us. John tapped one guy on the shoulder and asked if they would sit down please so that we could see since we had been there a while. It looked like the guy wanted to say something rude but thought better of it. I couldn’t tell if he was ticked off or if it dawned on him that he was in the way. They sat so I didn’t care if he was upset with John or not.

After about 15 minutes or so, Illuminations began!

DSCF3894.jpg

DSCF3895.jpg

And we soon realized that the tree was going to be a problem. Why do they have trees in Epcot anyway? Okay, so I’m being facetious but heck, can’t they make them on moving wheels or something and get them outta the way during Illuminations?

I so envy those of you who have really good cameras and take great pictures of Illuminations (or the other fireworks for that matter) because mine never turn out good:

Illuminations was just as beautiful and inspiring as ever!

**Up next: And THIS is why I will never leave Hunter in Jesse’s care!

It is Disney...trees that move out of the way for a fireworks show do not sound that outrageous! ;)

I can't ever get good night pictures either. It may be a setting on my camera, but I am just not camera savvy enough to figure it out. And, I don't want to mess up the settings I have that do work! :confused3

Kudos to you for getting a spot for Illimunations on short notice. And :thumbsup2 to John for saying something to the people in front of you. Seriously, did he really think you guys were sitting there for your health.

You got some decent pictures. That one of the fireworks with the "dang tree" would have been awesome if it weren't for that "dang tree." :rotfl2:

We haven't done Illimunations in ages (the kids did it without us last month)...just not a big fan (much prefer Wishes and Fantasmic); but Mark said he'd like to do it this year so we probably will.

Aew I love that you're so welcoming hmm..... bed sewing stuff n gym stuff? It's a good thing theres no fridge n computer in that room or might never come out again!!!LOL
Oh Illuminations*swoon*I cry every.single.time.
haha roll away trees that makes me laugh because the first time I ever went to visit the town that my dads side of the family is from I couldn't believe how early everything closed and his friend told me that at 5 pm and on sundays they roll up the sidewalks and store them away.:rotfl:

I think your Illuminations pictures look great!!!

I do Illuminations every other trip. I prefer Wishes but it is nice. And you got a good spot, even if you did temporarily have someone blocking you! At least they did sit down when asked.

Just read all this this report so far and am subbing in!.

I really enjoyed your take on the cruise. I have always thought about going but wondered if it would be worth it. I'm not thinking it would be something my daughter and I would enjoy after reading your review.

Great updates! I love the Coral Reef, I have had that chicken that Hunter had the last 2 times, but I had it the way it comes over the spaetzle noodles and broth and it is yummy.

Your pictures may not be as good as those with the super fancy (and expensive) cameras, but you did get some pretty good ones. The one with the globe in particular, I've never taken one that zoomed in. I love seeing the trail of light left by the fireworks too.

See you think the same way as I do. It's Disney! Duh, can't they do anything and everything? What's so hard about moving a tree? :rotfl:

I'm kind of afraid to mess with the settings too because I won't remember what I had it set on before. :rolleyes1

John's a pretty vocal guy when it comes to things like that. He won't say it in a mean gruff voice but he gets his point across.

That DANG TREE drove me nuts because it showed up in almost all of my pictures.

Actually, there used to be a small cube refrigerator in the room but I took it out and donated it to the Boy Scouts about a month ago.

The town where John is from shuts down almost everything on Wednesday. I kid you not...even the banks shut down.:sad2:

I think your Illuminations pictures look great!!!

I'll take any and every nighttime show that Disney has to offer. I like 'em all!

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! I'm glad to have you here!

After a whole lot of thought and the passing of time, we are actually comtemplating another cruise. Of course, if we go again, I'll make sure it's not when John's having a medicine change.

Please keep posting! I love to hear from the readers!

Great updates! I love the Coral Reef, I have had that chicken that Hunter had the last 2 times, but I had it the way it comes over the spaetzle noodles and broth and it is yummy.

I do remember the chicken coming with a different side and a broth. Thankfully, they were able to change it up for Mr. Picky Eater.

Thank you! I had many many more that I deleted because they were super blurry. A couple of the globe came out pretty good.

And THIS is why I will never leave Hunter in Jesses care!

Once Illuminations was over, we let the majority of the crowd filter out and then walked over to a spot where the ducks had gathered. Those little buggers were smart. They knew that there were left over tidbits of food lying around and they were on the hunt.

DSCF3946.jpg

DSCF3947.jpg

While watching the ducks, we realized that one was favoring one leg and was hopping. It certainly didnt stop him/her from pushing in front of others to get at a piece of popcorn that was lying on the ground. popcorn:: He/she bumped into one that was about to pick it up and knocked it out of the way. We figured that was how he got hurt in the first place. He was a bully and the others had ganged up on him and things got rough. Thus, Mr. Limpy Leg. :crutches:

A couple of pictures while waiting around:

DSCF3948.jpg

DSCF3949.jpg

When enough people had gone, we walked over to one of the two stores located right along the lagoons edge. The name of the store escapes me right now but it has a semi-decent selection. We all wandered around a bit looking at this and looking at that. Then, John tapped me on the shoulder and said look at them!

THIS is why I will never leave Hunter in Jesses care!

DSCF3952.jpg

Jesse had all sorts of girly things and had Hunter dressed up in them. It was so hilarious! :lmao:

**Up next: Animal Control! Animal Control! We need Animal Control!

Aww...poor duck with the limpy leg. I've had a bunny hop over to me to look for food (in 2010) after Illuminations, but never the ducks.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: at the picture of Jesse dressing up Hunter!!!

Should I send you Mark's purse for Hunter? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

That was absloutely hysterical...I loved it.

Poor Duck; he probably could never get to anything in the past and decided to be aggressive and got hurt.

Gotta say- despite the inconveniently placed tree, you have some pretty nice photos. Love the ones of the fire and of the globe.

Illuminations is a great show. My guys, little and big, are not all that interested in any of the night time shows, so that is one of the reasons I really love staying at the Beach Club. I often go out to see the show, all alone, while the boys veg out in the room.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

While I was replying to this, I saw your last update!

Great duck pictures and story.

I was NOT expecting the last pictures there! I can't remember if you are into Harry Potter at all, but the picture reminds me of a scene in Prisoner of Azkaban.
