Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

I'm glad Hunter enjoyed his birthday surprise!!! I think the decorations are fun!

I think the ladder is in case of bunk beds, not emergency escapes . That definitely doesn't look like it'd get you very far.

Ewww hopefully the smelly smell went away soon!!!

Love the surpise birthday decorations! Even though they did seem geared towards younger children I think it is always fun when someone does something special for your birthday. We did that for my aunt when we went on a non-Disney cruise a few years ago. Her birthday fell in the middle of the cruise so they decorated the stateroom she was sharing with my mom while we were all at dinner. She loved it and was so surpised! No cake though, but it's not as if it was difficult finding desserts on the ship!:rolleyes1

That's what I did do hence the pictures. Also they clean the sides of the ship in every port with fresh water to wash off the salt water as it can corrode the ship over time if they don't. They also are contently painting it too for the same reasons. Sometimes others too

This is one I have from Aruba where they were repainting the side of the ship after the Panama Canal pilots decided to "drag" the ship along the walls of the last dock. Captain Tom didn't want them to do any damage to "his ship" (he considers all of the Disney ships to be his as he was the first Captain they hired and he brought all of them over from Europe. He is currently the Master of the Disney Fantasy) even a scratch. They actually had to grind off the marks from the rubber o the walls of the canal that it touched on both sides the length of the ship. Captain Tom was apparently really p'ed off.

There were work crews constantly cleaning the decks, the side of the ship and painting during our cruise. We certainly didn't see that with the other cruise ships docked around us.

Love the birthday surprise, we ordered the exact same thing for our Dream cruise next month and I think Kendall will love it, especially the banner and the cake. How did the cake taste?

Bummer on the smell, it supposedly can and does happen on all ships, though it seems to me it shouldn't! I was warned last year and brought an air freshener in the Wonder, this reminds me to do the same very shortly!

Pretty room :)

The cake itself was good. The icing/frosting tasted a little off though. It had that shortening taste to it but it wasn't bad.

Yep, make sure that you bring along some sort of air freshener.

I would do the same as Hunter in that big window. Well, not the flopped on the belly position :crazy2:, the sitting position.

Also, my hubby would give his eye teeth for that cake box. I would show him the pic, but I am afraid he would want me to order one just so he could get his hands on the box. :lmao:

Honey, I sat in that porthole many many times over the course of the cruise. It was such a great view.

I didn't even think about how cute the box was.

Hunter didn't care that the decorations were geared more towards the younger kids. He was just excited to see them hanging there.

Yep, the ladder is there for the bed but we had a good time talking about his we'd never be able to use it to escape.:rotfl2:

Yeah, Hunter didn't care that they were a bid kiddish. He liked them anyway. Aww, that was sweet of ya'll to order the decorations for your aunt. I bet she was surprised.

I wanted to let you know that Hunter seems like a great kid. He's not one of those ungrateful, sulking teenager types that seem to be all around these days.

My thoughts exactly! He seems like a rare kid and is going to make quite the catch one day.

I'm glad that Hunter enjoyed his birthday surprise! The room looked great!

Love all the photos of the room. Were the rooms smaller than you expected or did you think they were large enough?

Sorry about the smell, it's not the first time that I've heard about that happening.

I do love the porthole pictures - so cute!
Hmm, did the birthday cake come with any candles? Light them in the bathroom!!!:rotfl2:

ew!! What was with the stinky bathroom?? It shouldn't have smelt bad! I hope it didn't linger - maybe the person preparing your room had to go and just couldn't wait :confused3 LOL

Loved the bday decorations!! What a nice touch :)

and I loved the pic of Hunter bent up the wrong way. HAHA - My dd did that this summer. she wanted to tan her back but we don't have a chair that lays flat so she just contorted her body like Hunter did. I told her she was nuts!!! Oh to be as flexible as them hey??? :rotfl:

Hi Lisa!!! Loving the pictures of the ship!!! What a cute little room!!! Except for the stinky smell!! Hope you told someone about it! The port hole is so much bigger than I imagined! So cool that you can actually sit "in" it!!! Can't wait to read more!!!! Hope Hunter enjoyed his Birthday Surprise!!!

I'm playing catch up...again.

Love the pictures of the stateroom. And no matter how old we are (15 or 54), Mickey surprises of any kind are welcome on birthdays.

I hope the smell in the bathroom did not last the whole trip. :scared1:

Just want to say I've been lurking on your TR while Peanut naps in my arms and I'm enjoying it so far. :)

That picture of Hunter in the port hole made my back hurt just looking at it! I could never do that:eek:

Well your room looks very nice. Stinky smells are never nice especially when its someone else's stinky! I'm glad you could close it off!

I think that's just because it's Disney and they always want to have the ship be the star when it's in port. Besides they do stand out when they are parked next to the floating white places that are the other cruise ships. The most interesting thing about the paint on the side of the ships is it's not black it's a shade of blue called Monica blue as when they were experimenting with colors for them they found that black would be too dark and then they saw another Imaginer's sweater and the color was the perfect shade of blue not bright but dark enough that it would look black in a picture and they named it for her Monica.

And little Miss Peanut is adorable! I could just kiss her sweet cheeks all day long.

I know! The boy can do all sorts of twisty turny things with his body.

The room was very nice despite the smell. I have to say, though, that I don't think we would have liked an inside stateroom that had no window.

I love this kind of trivia!

Aww thank you! I'm really lucky that both of my kids are super down to Earth and don't mind hanging out with the family. Hunter had a friend over a weekend or two ago and my Mama came over to say hello. Hunter jumped up and hugged her right in front of his friend. He has no shame when it comes to his love for his Mamaw (or anybody for that matter). He told Danny (his friend), this is my Mamaw and she's super cool.

I'm glad that Hunter enjoyed his birthday surprise! The room looked great!

It was about what I was expecting. If you are claustrophobic, you might have issues with the entranceway and the bathrooms. Other than that, it was okay.

I had read about the smell on several reports but I had forgotten about it until I opened the bathroom door.

I do love the porthole pictures - so cute!

If there had been candles, I would have lit them for sure!

The toilet itself was very clean but the poopy smell lingered in the air.

Isn't it crazy how kids can turn and twist however they want. I don't think I could ever do that!

The room was very nice and we were pleased with everything except the smell.

Isn't that porthole big?!

I agree....if I went home today and there was a Mickey Mouse saying Happy 1st birthday I'd still be giddy. :rotfl:

I'm all caught up now:cool1:

I love the birthday decorations. Happy belated birthday to Hunter!

The room looks really nice. I love the porthole! I thought they were all small.

I know next to nothing about cruising but my DH is interested in it. I had no idea about the bathroom smells:crazy2: I hope that goes away!

Can't wait for the next installment.

I used to do the same thing as Hunter when I went on the Wonder 12 years ago! I loved sitting in that window. However I did not sit like an upside down fish like him lol.

The room decorations are so fun! Hunter must have loved it! You were able to keep that secret! Your photos of the room are amazing. I still cannot believe how big the rooms are on the Disney cruise ships. I was in nothing bigger than a walk in closet on my cruise last month!

Very cool piece of information! I love finding this kind of stuff out :cool1:

Love the birthday surprise!! We actually had those exact decorations (along with the Minnie ones) for DD 1st bday in May :thumbsup2
Love your room pics and the port hole, I really wanna Disney cruise! :goodvibes
