I HAVE GOT to brag about my son. He is 7.5 yrs (will be 8 in Jan.) and received his blackbelt in TKD this evening!! 3.5 years of hard work has finally paid off for him ..... we are all so proud tonight....and I can't stop crying....(a "mom" thing ya know!)
Anyhows, introducing my son, Ryan....our family's 1st blackbelt! (pictured here with his instructor)....

Sorry for the interruption, carry on............ :rolleyes1

cool :thumbsup2 ...he could probably kick the crap outta me

WOW - that is quite an accomplishment for anyone, yet alone someone so young. You have a right to be proud. How exciting!!

Thats awesome! From the size of his smile he thinks so too. :teeth: You must be so proud.

7 1/2... I can still take him on. good for you, he's involved with an activity he likes and not sitting with his face in a playstation and a cookie jar.

and he'll come in handy when you need lumber split and cinder blocks crushed. :)

Thanks guys.....I AM proud.......and I am also the mom of a second-grader with a blackbelt :scared:

(should i be scared?!?)

You may want to rethink those lessons, before he becomes a teenager. A hormonal, teenage boy with the power to kick you through the wall & break blocks with his hand & head may not be such a good thing. :rotfl: Oh, no problem! You'll just make a trip to Margaritaville for a fruity drink or 10 & forget all about the fact that your 13 yr. old can beat you up. :rotfl2:

Congrats to Ryan! That's an impressive accomplishment. :thumbsup2

:cool1: That's great! That shows great discipline! Good job mom and son!

not worried....they teach discipline and respect...more "mental life lessons" going on there...so, I actually feel better with the knowledge he has learned!

I hope you are NOT thinking I am going to wait THAT LONG to go have a drink (eh, or 10) at Margaritaville.....

Bubba's mom, that is wonderful news. He must be an incredible young man. I love the pic. He looks so happy. You must be thrilled.

Yay Ryan! That's a great accomplishment for such a young man! His determination will take him far, I'm sure.

congrats! What did you decide to do for a celebration?

Of course, not!!! :teeth: It just sounded like a good excuse to go to Universal to me. ;) Maybe, I'm the only one who sits around thinking up reasons why we must go on vacation. :confused3 :rotfl2:

My little man takes a different form of martial arts. He's 9 and has been taking for three years this month. He's a 2nd degree green belt. He probably has another 1 1/2 or 2 to go before he reaches blackbelt degree. Congratulations to you both. That is quite an accomplishment, I'm sure I'll be bawling too!
