Hi :) I'm cruising for the first time on the Fantasy Oct 31-Nov 7th , very excited to try this new experience! I'm having a very hard time finding excursions I think my husband and I would enjoy. I just booked a day at the Beach/ All inclusive day package (Romantic pkg) for Mr. Sanchos Beach club as it came with a guaranteed cabana in addition to the all inclusive pkg. along with a 30 min massage for the couple.... which I will use both my husband's and my 30 min to extend it to a 60 min as hubby doesn't care for massages :)
Has anyone been to Mr. Sanchos Beach Club before? It's gotten great reviews on Trip Advisor, so hopefully it'll be an enjoyable day.
I'd also like to try zip lining, but I do have a fear of heights so that is something I'd need to think very hard about whether I want to commit myself or not.... I was interested in the extreme adventure park in Cozumel....however, I feel I've already spent more money than I wanted to on excursions, so it may not be something I book. I have already committed to renting a Cabana on our Castaway Cay day (we are concierge, so hopefully have a good chance at getting one), along with the $200 Cozumel Beach Club day, I think that is more than enough to commit too financially.
If you have any ideas about things that aren't overly pricey and that would be good for 2 adults, please feel free to share. Our ports are Falmouth Jamaica, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and of course , Castaway Cay :)
Thanks!

Dunns river falls climb is good in Jamacia Turtle farm Hell and Stingrays in GC or for a rustic beach Rum point is good. Cabana at Castaway is excellent.Cozumel the Dolphin interactions there are very good.

We did that package at Mr. Sanchos and had a fabulous day. I'm not a big massage person but really enjoyed the one there.

I looked at Mr Sanchos AI but with the timings the ship is in port you are really only getting half a day, so haven't committed to it yet. I am a LMT so would be nice to be on the other end of a massage!

I have researched the other ports to death as have been to them before but not being a fan of scuba or water sports nothing really appeals. We did 7 mile beach in GT and some shopping. Cozumel, shopping and lots of drinking in Margariettaville/Senor Frogs but not to be repeated! Probably take a private tour this time in Jamaica and George Town and a beach 1/2 day in Coz. We live not too far from the Gulf and Atlantic coast in central Florida so a bit spoiled in general and struggle to find things we both enjoy. I would do a foodie tour but better half wouldn't enjoy that. We are also a military family so hiking, zipling is out too, but you should try the later once as it is exhilarating.

Paradise Beach in Cozumel is nice. We took a cab there from the port and spent the day there. Good food, beautiful pool, nice beach, and clean bathrooms! There was a small fee for chairs (around $3) and then you are asked to buy at least $10 in food and/or drinks....pretty reasonable. It was a great day.

We just went to Nachi Cocum in Cozumel last week (a little further down the road from Mr Sanchos) -it's also an all inclusive. The plus on NC that I researched, and then experienced, is that there aren't a lot of kids there (they're not adult only, but they don't have the water toys that some odd the other beaches have). So if you're looking for a reduction of kids and better chance of calme adult time, I'd recommend Nachi. The price was good too - not very expensive compared to what all you get.

Nachi also has a maximum of something like 100,so you can get away from the crowds too.

We did NC a few years ago and it was great. Quiet and theories of was so yummy! Would do it again for sure!

Well I booked the romantic package at Mr. Sanchos as it comes with the massage.... also a guaranteed cabana. I truly would like to zipline, but I am too scared I'd get there and chicken out. I wouldn't want to waste my money with that happening!!
I can cancel and change my mind if I for some reason DO decide to zipline instead, but I really am having a hard time with the thought of being that high on a little cable, LOL
Jeez, now I am double guessing my choice as ziplining has always been on my bucket list!
I also noticed how short of a day it seemed in Cozumel/ only in port from 09:30 - 3:30, makes for a quick day!

If the fantasy is still going to Jamaica on your cruise, you could zip line there. That's what we did in Jamaica. DD and I are afraid of heights, but we really enjoyed it.

Hi Snurk71 :) yes, it's going to Falmouth. Which excursion did you do and with which company?
I just need to get up my courage and "just do it" as one popular brand would say! Also did you book via DCL or privately for the zip line tour?
Thanks!

Snurk - can you tell me more about the ziplining. I am afraid of heights - so the chairlift to the bobsleds in Jamaica is out for me - chairlifts just creep me out. I tried a little zipline at a local hotel this summer to see what I thought of the feeling itself and I liked it more than I thought. I was looking at the zipline/river tubing combo and want to know how steep the inclines are on the ziplines, how high up they are, etc. As with the OP, I really want to do it - my kids and husband would love it - but I don't want to pay for it and chicken out once I see it.

We did ziplining at rose hall (I think there may be other ziplines). There was no chairlift - those would freak me out too. You drive up to the top in a bus.

The ziplining was not what I would call open air, meaning there wasn't a thousand feet of open space below you. The ground wasn't very far down along any line, the ones that were a little higher up you actually zipped right above the tree top line (back to what Im usually afraid of - the open air/height).

The step off the first platform was a little scary, but it wasn't that bad. There's also one or two small straight down zips, but those are a few lines in after you have your feet wet. Plus they also control how fast you drop on the straight down drops. So if you're not feeling very brave they'll take you down slowly.

WOW :) funny to see my thread revived , lol ..... I have a bit of an update to the ZIP Line dilemma -- I decided if I'm going to zipline, I'm going to try it in my own country first and see whether I like it or not. My son came home from the military for his summer leave and we took a trip to Victoria, BC (Sooke) and decided to do a zipline tour together....I promised him if he came on the road trip with his mom and dad , i'd to the zipline with him! I am proud to say that I did it!! www.adrenalinezip.com
it was definitely an adrenaline rush, and stepping off those platforms was a test of steel nerves! Now that i've done it, I can say I probably wouldn't want to do it again. It was something I've always wanted to cross off my bucket list, and i'm proud I did it, but it took a lot of courage and I am still scared of heights! I MIGHT do it again if it was a harness where I was tethered at 2 points, and didn't spin around, more like a trapeze bar at the top and a sling chair seat for the sitting part, (I didn't like that I kept swinging around and approaching the trees backwards in my swiss seat type harness/ single cable hook up) -- I am proud that I took the leap literally and just did it..... I can say I overcame my fears and didn't let my fears hold me back. I am proud of that! :) for now, though ..... once was definitely enough, LOL

Straight down zips - not thinking I would like that. But if they can control my speed - I might just have to take one for the team - or the family in this case. Thanks for your feedback!!

In Falmouth, I did a food tour. I don't remember the cost but I don't think it was very expensive. It is a walking tour with several stops where you experience the local cuisine. The guide also gives you some history of the town. I thought I got better feel for the area and the people than I would have on a ship excursion.
