Excursions - Especially Castaway Cay

A few questions:

I've read on these boards that it's wise to book excursions before you sail. How is this done? I've found no phone number or website that allows me to do that. Our cruise is 5/22, so maybe it's too early??

Does the book-ahead recommendation apply to Castaway Cay rentals? I've been assuming that they must keep enough inventory on hand for high demand. Naive?

Does Castaway Cay provide lounge chairs or sand chairs on the beach? If so, are there enough for everyone?

What about beach towels? Should we pack our own, or does DCL provide? If they provide, is there a limit to how many and how often we can get them?

Hi there!

You'll get a brochure with the excursions in the mail a few weeks (months?) before you sail. Didn't book any, but I believe you can begin booking at that point.

We booked both the kayaks and the snorkle equipment on CC when we got there. I know you can book ahead of time, and if there's something you really want to do, go ahead and book it so you don't miss out. We didn't really care one way or another so we took out chances. There seemed to be plenty of boats/snorkle equipment left but weather was cool.

There are plenty of chairs on the beach. If you get out there early you should have plenty of choices. May I suggest you try for a hammock - they're awesome. I usually never sleep at the beach but once I was on the hammock there was no stopping it. What a treat!

You are given towels when you get off the boat, there were plenty. Didn't ask for extras but I'm sure it's no problem.

I know it's overwhelming, but try not to sweat the small stuff. DCL will take very good care of you, it all goes very smoothly. Have fun!

You can start booking 60 days before your departure- the phone # is 877-566-0968. We did not recieve any info. about excursions in the mail- I got the info. off the website.
