Excursion time - early or later one?

The excursion I'm thinking of booking in St. Martin has two time choices: 8:15 or 1:15. Any advice to which would be better or anybody have any pros/cons/personal advice??

I really don't have anything else planned there except maybe a little shopping by the dock.

Either will work. If you want beach or shopping time after the excursion, do the early. Of course, you will need to be an early riser that day to have breakfast before the excursion.

If you'd rather sleep in, do the late.
