Excursion thoughts (Cozumel, PV, and Cabo)

We normally do not take excursion through the ship, but with Covid I think it makes sense. We are on the 3/2 Panama Canal cruise. In Cozumel we are booked on Speed Boat Beach Escape, in Puerto Vallarta we planning the Historic Towns and Tequila-Making, and in Cabo the Ultimate Luxury Snail and Snorkel. I would love to hear your thoights on these particular tours. Or if you did another DCL sponsored tour that you really enjoyed.

We want to avoid DCL excursions that involve traveling together in groups - such as on buses. Our preference is to do it privately - in just our own party.

In Cozumel, we will head to a bech club for a day on the beach and in the pools. In PV, we will do another day at a beach resort in a private ride. In Cabo, we will look to rent a boat for half a day.

The only DCL excursion we might do is the sightseeing in Cartagena since time in that port is so tight.

Don't know about the excursions in Cabo (my visit was on a Guided Missile Cruiser), but the water is amazing for snorkeling! Have fun!

If vaccinated you should be able to do any excursions in Mexico on your own. Disadvantage with Disney excursion is that it is a "bubble." You must stay with the group from the time you check in for the tour onboard to the time you get back onboard. No shopping. The entire process adds a lot of time to the tour.

In Coz our son saw an item he really liked at a stall on the bridge as we were being conducted back to the ship (mini surfboards with really nice art painted on them). He had to go through security on the ship before he could return to get them. Then he went back out again to get a second one.

In Mexico you will typically need a mask in the port, indoors, and in any transportation. Beach clubs may require masks in dining areas and shops.
