Excursion Recos for 4 Day Bahamas?

We are going on our very first cruise and first cruise with DCL on Feb 29th to Bahamas. It is 4 night cruise. It will just be myself, hubby, and 6 year old daughter. What do you recommend for excursions? Or can we still have fun without excursions?

We did the dolphin encounter (not the swim) at blue lagoon in Nassau and really enjoyed it. We had the earliest departure time available, spent a good bit of time with the dolphins, then went to the beach next to the dolphin enclosure. We caught the 1:00 ferry back to the ship and ate lunch at cabanas before spending the rest of the day in the pools and on the aqua duck.

For castaway Cay, we did the stingray one where you feed them then snorkel. While we enjoyed it, I wouldn't book another excursion on Castaway Cay again. The island is so beautiful and the water so calm, I would've preferred to spend all day just relaxing and exploring the island on my own rather than spending time on an excursion

Hey Partyof4LA - thank you so much! We are a very laid back family and enjoy just relaxing so we might just enjoy Castaway Cay like you suggest.

For Nassau, I was looking at the Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day (half day). No dolphin encounter. I also like your idea of heading back to the ship for the afternoon to enjoy the pools and aqua duck.

My kids enjoyed the Blue Laboon beach even though we didn't pay extra for use of the inflatables. I would consider that beach day if we were in Nassau again.

Another recommendation for Blue Lagoon. The Sea Lion encounter is wonderful, but a beach day there is great on its own.

Thank you! Sea Lions sounds really different and fun! How crowded are the beaches at Blue Lagoon? It looks like kayaks and probably snorkeling gear are extra. Does anyone know how much extra for these items? I'm wondering if it's worth it to pay extra on top of the Blue Lagoon Beach package to get the kayak or snorkeling gear or if we would just be happy on the beach for half day? Thoughts?
