Excursion for Mazataln

Looking at choosing between the

or the
Salsa & Salsa: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/port-adventures/mazatlan-mexico-salsa/?CMP=DisneyCruiseLineBlog

Can anyone give me advice on these? And they say that they will give me a ride TO the excursion site, but does it include a trip back to the boat?

In the links you provided The Salsa and salsa says:

• Take a leisurely drive back to the ship at the end of your adventure.

The Shrimp Fest gives you the option:
Return to the ship on your own or return to the pier directly from the venue at the conclusion of your adventure.


I'd be for shrimp fest that it isn't terribly far from the ship so walking back along the waterfront probably wouldn't be terrible.

Another Question: The cash we take for excursions, can we take American or do we need whatever type of money they use?
Sorry, I don't mean to be ignorant, this will be, for the most part, our first time doing an excursion (We did one chocolate tour through DCL but didn't take cash). But folks here have convinced me to do venture out and do a couple of excursions, and I know NOTHING about how to do it.
