Hello All!

We have our booking window opening for our 7 day Fantasy Eastern Caribbean cruise.

We will be going to St Thomas and Tortola.

I have 2 older parents joining us, my dad is 79! and I have a 6 and 4 year old daughters.

Questions:
Are the Bath's too difficult for my family?

Which snorkeling trip should we take? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Greg

We're going to St Thomas and Tortola, too! We're bringing my parents, but they're not quite as old (mid 60's), however...my mom had a pace maker placed a few years ago and had some issues with it. Just a brief overview on how mobile/active she is, she's an ER nurse who still works full-time. She no longer can go on strenuous hikes/activities anymore which is why I had asked this same question (at another forum). I was told that the "hike' down is quite a bit challenging and even more so on the way back up. Based on that information, we decided that it probably wasn't the safest thing for her to do and even though we really wanted to see this incredible sight, we would have to return to it on another trip. I am in NO WAY implying that your parents couldn't do it, just telling you what other's have said to us. Your parents may be very very active--heck, I remember getting by butt handed to me when I ran one of the Disney marathon's by someone in their 70s (I was mortified:oops:)

We ended up hiring a private charter (we read in another thread that getting to the baths via boat is way easier than the hike down/up) but our captain said that it would be very long lines to go through the paths and an 1-hr by boat to get there. We would rather spend our time snorkeling at some of the incredible locations around Tortola.

Thank you very much for this.
Can you share the boat charter? perhaps that would work for us.

Thanks again

We took our two 80 year old cruisemates to Magen's Bay and they had a nice relaxing, manageable day. We had mobility issues to consider. It was a perfect day. Great beach with very calm, clear waters and lots of shade Haven't been to Tortola yet..
