Hi all,
DH and I went up tp MGM for the day yesterday to check out Star Wars weekends. We had a super time. It was VERY crowded though! Lines for ToT and RnR were both 60 -75 minutes, and even with a FP we waited longer than usual. Weather was really humid and it would sprinkle occasionally, but I think it would have been worse (oppresively hot) if the sun had been out!
We live in Tampa, so we didn't arrive until abotu 12:30, and the biggest disappointment of our day was missing the SW edition of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. We've done this before and it's so fun! I can't understand why - on SW weekends - they would only do this twice, and both times back to back and early in the day. At least maybe do one early, and one later. Anyway, everything esle surrounding SW weekends was really fun, but really crowded.
We had also done the new stunt show once before and I LOVED it, so we headed back to see it again. I was kind of surprised that they were doing the show, because at that time it was sprinkling again and I was wondering if they could do those stunts in the rain. Sure enough, in the second stunt sequence, two of the black cars had a head-on collision! It was shocking to see, and they stopped the show immediately and made everyone leave. As we were walking out though, we could see that both drivers looked ok. It was a little scary!
Finally, I wanted to report that DH and I tried Hollywood & Vine for the first time and really liked it. It definitely lacks the Disney magic of most of the other restaurants, but the food was really good and with our DDE card, it felt like a good deal for all we ate. We will definitely go back!
Whew! That seemed like a lot of typing for a one day trip! It was fun day though, and it makes me oh so thankul to live only 90 minutes from Disney!
Any questions?
