EXCITING news about the disney celebrations!!

Hi all

just found out some new and exciting stuff for the Disneyland 15th anniversary celebrations!

1 - the Once Upon A Dream parade will encorporate ALL five senses (sight, hear, touch, taste and smell!!) although it has not been disclosed how some of the more exciting ones will be tackled, touch will be acheived with more contact with the characters during the parade!
2- some of the disney character which appear around the park for meet n greets will have brand new celebration costumes!
3 - the 'chandeliers' on top of the lights down mainstreet which were used for christmas will be replaced with similar gold ones!

on top of all this info, there's a new attraction to arrive in WDS, in the place of the Disney Channel TV studios. the said attraction will be the Stitch Encounter!! how exciting! and will involve stitch, on a giant screen, interacting with the audience and their questions!

These are very exciting times at DLRP.

Just to add to this:

Several times everyday, the new character train will drop off about 20 characters on Central Plaza - these will be dispersed to the entrance of each 4 lands each wearing a special 15th badge and posing for photos near a themed 15th sign.



The senses for the parade will be achieved in lots of special ways (if you don't want to know - don't read below)

Sight - Obviously the parade's beautiful 8 new floats and dancers and characters

Sound - The musical score of the parade - which will be one grand underlying theme and different variations for each float with character voices.

Touch - As princess_tigerlily said, the interaction with the characters and dancers will incorporate the "touch" sense. Also if you try and catch the confetti shot from the floats during the show stops - that's a touch too.

Smell - Each Float will have a different "perfume" expelled from it. So for the floral garden you will smell flowers, when Pinnochio passes by you will smell wood, for the jungle you'll detect a rainforest scent in the air. A first for a Disney Parade, but Disneyland Paris has been using them around the park for years (perhaps most noticeably at the Christmas Tree during the Christmas Season, or sweet smells on Main Street)

Taste - As a special birthday treat millions of sweets will be given away by the Mad Hatter and Dancers during the parade.

also forgot to mention that the train which will be taking the 20 characters (approx) along main street for meet n greets is rumoured to be an improved version of the Dumbo train from the current parade!
