Excitement building as we blast off to Disney!!

Hi,
Just thought I'd share my preparation experiences with others. We go to Disney on Thursday - just five days away! Today whils my kids have been out I've been giving the house a good old tidy up, got my handbag and filled it with all documents needed-not fogetting my lippy..then I took them all out again just to double check they were all there..does anyone else do this? I then tripped over the suitcase on the landing at look at the swim shoes my daughter wanted and now refuses to wear because they look and feel weird.
Now with ten minutes to myself a good old cup of coffee I've kicked my shoes off and actually begin to believe that we are returning.
i am sure the next few days will be hectic - you know making sure everyone is organised ,taking the cat/dog on their holidays..but I know it will all be worth it when we walk through those magical gates at M.K.

Oh how I wish that we were going in 5 days. We have to wait until the end of Nov. and right now that seems like a loooong time off.

I'll bet that handbag is checked several more times before you go too !

We always do several last minute checks on tickets, passports, car-park documents, etc etc.


........... and when the boys are in the car and it's just DH and me left, I like to go round the house and do a tap check (that they are turned off properly and that the plug area is clear!), window and doors to outside check, plug-point check, fridge doors closed check ..... I wouldn't be able to drive away with a clear mind if I didn't do these ritrual checks at the last minute (!)

........ as Catherine says, I wish I was on my five day countdown !

Lucky you i wish i was going in a couple of days time i'm 9 weeks on Thursday but i'm terrible when it comes to packing DH thinks i'm mad i have a list of everything to go with us and i have already started packing i have one case full i do this everytime we go i think it just makes me excited i look at the cases and say i'm going again. I cant remember where i read it but a few tips are put a cup with ice cubes in it in your freezer and you will know if your freezer has been switched off for some reason and another one is get a cardboard box and put it under your letterbox so the mail falls in rather than all over the floor and people cant see you are away on your hols, my inlaws wont come and check the house because they frightened of the house alarm.
