It's really great to know that no matter how many times I say I'm excited here everyone will understand - I'm sure my family think I'm loosing it, getting so excited when there's still over 5 months til we go.

Welcome! How exciting, planning your first Disney trip. May I ask who you're going to Disney with?

Of course you can!
I'm taking my daughter who will be 8 the week before and we are going with a friend and her son (7).
We're all disney newbies!
Neither of us have told our kids the holiday is booked and are planning to hold off telling them til after Christmas. (can't see us managing to wait that long though )
Although my daughter knows Mummy's been saving for nearly 2 years and there should be enough money for us to go next year. She keeps saying she can't wait to spend 2 days at DLP (She is assuming we will stay in a hotel for one night and go to the parks either side - not sure where the idea came from )
So I can't wait to see her face when I tell her we're going for 6 days/5 nights! Kids!

A quick Q: How do I get one of the great count downs to my trip? I've never seen them before - I'm none to computer literate so I hope they're simple to do

All of the countdowns in this thread are from the TickerFactory, though there are other sites to choose from too. But if these ones look okay, you can just click on somebody's ticker and it will take you through to the website. Make up the ticker you want and then copy the "bbCode" and paste it into you signature

After my computer crashed yesterday I finally got a chance this morning to make a count down.

But how great you've found that site Raci! You get so much help here! They are all friendly and it is so much fun posting and reading about "our" Disneyland. SO MUCH that I have to warn you, it's very addictive!!
