Just finished our marathon weekend reservation! Who else will be running this year? We booked a BCV 2 bedroom/2 queens for 4 nights at the 11 month mark. Since the rest of our points are at BWV we had to wait to do the remainder of the nights until the 7 month mark. I was happy to see they were all available, especially since I forgot to do it on exactly the right day. We are booked January 9-17. DH and DBil are doing the full marathon. DSis and DMom are doing the half. I'll just be cheering :) We are wait listed for a 2 bedroom at GFV, but will be more than happy to stay at BCV.

Can anyone comment on marathon transportation from BCV? Last time we did the marathon we stayed at BLT and the runners used the monorail.

Our SIL ran his first WDW marathon last year and is doing the Goofy this year. We have a standard 2 bedroom at BLT. We love staying there with our 3yr granddaughter. Our other 2 daughters came last year but our oldest stayed at Art of Animation. I am doing the 10k with the rest watching.

Did you stay the week before marathon or week after last time? We stayed week before and found crowds to be good with the exception of the actual marathon weekend. I was just wondering if crowds will be pretty light the week after marathon. I'm sad we'll miss all the Christmas decorations. We caught the end of them last time.

We left Tuesday lasyear and it seemed a lot of people left right after the marathon. Monday seemed quiet. This year we are leaving Wed to get an extra day in. Our SIL feels that he is in training mode and does not want to go to the parks before the races. He was thinking this year he would run hard in the half and enjoy the marathon. But he is too competitive to not go full out.

Maybe we'll see you there then :) Hoping for low crowds the week after!!

We are excited to be going down for Marathon Weekend again, too!! My husband Scott and I will be running Dopey and my mom is running the half. We'll be staying at BWV from 1/7-1/14. The last 3 years we've stayed down until Wednesday and it is nice to be there after with no stress of races and the crowds get a bit lower than the weekend itself. We felt the parks were still crowded though with a lot of tour groups last January.

We will all be there. Not booked anything yet. DH is running the full, DD's are running the half, and I will be doing the 10k.

We're in! DW and I are doing the Dopey Challenge. Booked at OKW from the 7th to the 17th. We would have like BCV, but our home resort is SSR. My Mother-in-Law is doing the half; she'll be staying with us. My cousin is doing the marathon for his first ever race and is staying in the Wyndham Bonnet Creek using a different timeshare.

We stayed the week after when we did the full in 2013 and the week before in 2009. Crowds were very light the week after compared to the week before.
