exchanging into DVC

Yes. All the WDW Disney resorts are now in the directory, under Lake Buena Vista. DV## ids have Points, Weeks, and Extra Vacations inventory. RD## inventory appears only in Extra Vacations.

In Weeks, you will need a deposit that has excellent trade power. In Points, you're giong to need a lot of points.

Thanks Brian,

So when you start a search for weeks, you use the codes DV## not the RD## codes correct? Did II have that many getaways to buy at DVC or is this just with RCI?

II rarely had DVC for rent under getaways.

This is a new thing---and it's being marketed heavily. RCI now is advertising the DVC rental inventory on its front page, with something like 1/4 of the page. II had a few SSR weeks a while back, but it seemed like a market test.

I find it easiest to just search for Florida/Lake Buena Vista. Bonnet Creek is the only non-DVC resort in that location.

What kind of trading power is needed to trade into DVC?

RCI doesn't publish metrics. But, if you see Manhattan Club, you'll probably see DVC. If you don't, you probably won't.

I was looking at RCI Weeks trades today and was able to pull some 1BRs at SSR in August and September using a very inexpensive week from a timeshare we own in GA (White week). In this case, the trade value was enhanced because we had banked the week a full year ahead.

If you go to RCI.com and login to your account, select Exchange My Week, you can easily see what your deposited week will pull from the availability. I tried another week we have on deposit which we had banked 3 weeks before the arrival date and I could not see the DVC availability with that week - so even though this week is a better timeshare, the trade was lessened because of when it had been deposited.

It looks like for the first time that Disney is giving RCI weeks specifically to sell, likely instead of sending many of them to CRO.
