??? Exchanged timeshare for Disney Vero Beach Resort via RCI

My husband and I are new to owning a DVC membership and we recently we got to use another timeshare that we own to exchange into Disney Vero Beach Resort thru RCI instead of using our points.

Since we are DVC members we were wondering if we would be charged the member price for their activities while at the resort? Also would we be charged for internet service? If there is a fee for internet in your room is there anywhere at the resort that you can access free internet? we have teenagers that live and breath being able to use the internet..

DVC does not extend member benefits to exchangers even if they are also members. Often you'll get some benefits like free movie rentals but rarely the free internet. This is how it works both in function and is the official word from the top at DVC. This is even though the member who exchanged out would have gotten those benefits had they used their points for the same stay.

We stayed at OKW last year thru RCI (we also had a room over at AKV on DVC points for overlfow family). I do not think you can get DVC member rates if you charge to the RCI room, as it is set up as RCI exchange. However, if we paid with CC and showed DVC card, we could get DVC member rates for crafts, bike rentals, etc. So, I just paida with CC instead of charging to the room. There was no free IT for the RCI exchange. Elaine
