Exchange theme park ticket for water park ticket?

My in-laws bought a MYW package with 4 theme park days ...

After talking with them, they assumed that the water parks is the same as a theme park and was going to use one of their park days to potentially go to a water park instead.

Their itinerary:
Monday - arrive (early via plane)
Tuesday - Friday - parks/pools/etc
Saturday - leave (early via plane)

They aren't sure if they want to do anything on Monday besides hang at the resort
There plan was:
TUE - AK
WED - Pool or Water Park
THU - MK
FRI - DHS

So are they able to just use their theme park ticket on Wednesday for a Water park (or swap them out and get refunded the difference?)

Or are they better off just trying to use one of their park days on Monday evening?

I'm trying to let them "own" their own plans but I don't want them to be got off guard by some things.

1. Officially, no. (But, you can always explain things to a ticket CM and ASK nicely.)
2. There would be no problem in doing that, or doing so on WED.

If they want to visit a water park, they will most likely need to purchase a separate water park ticket.

Since they haven't used the MYW tickets yet, they should be able to call and downgrade to a 3-day park ticket if they are sure they will not want to visit a park on either Mon or Wed. Then they can either purchase a 1-day water park ticket or forgo the water park and just spend that day at the pool. (They also don't have to decide this in advance. If they decide on the day that they want to visit the water park, they can purchase the ticket either at their hotel concierge or at the park gate.)
