Excellent rate at the Courtyard Marriott DTD

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting, I've been lurking for several weeks and want to thank everyone for their tips and comments shared on this board.

ok, now to my real reason for posting:

I booked a couple of stays at the Courtyard Marriott DTD and would like to share my great find (found in a round about way from something I have read in another forum here). We are going basically to visit the Disney water parks as we are getting annual passes to the water parks during out trip this weekend for Memorial day. (We already have FL Resident Seasonal passes to the 4 parks and have never visited the water parks before.)

I called the Courtyard Marriott DTD directly because I read here that they offer great rates at the end of summer/beginning of fall to see if they are offering a similar rate again this year. Yes they are!! It is called the '100 years of magic' rate and can be booked only by calling the hotel directly. The rate is $20.02 for stays Sun-Thurs from August 11th thru October 3rd. I have booked and paid for 2 vacation stays there for September (including the Labor Day holiday!) These are non refundable reservations and are billed to your credit card at the time of reservation.

Can I get reviews of this hotel from anyone that has stayed recently (like in the past couple of months)

I was coming here to post these great rates, you beat me cinamin27 !
I was sent a newsletter with this info.
We stayedat the Courtyard DD in May 2001 and thought the hotel was Great!! The rooms are very big! And I liked that our room had a balcony(ours overlooked the pool) The only thing I didn't like was the beds were really soft. I can put up with that for $20.02 night! Now I have to talk my kids out of the kids suite at the CI&S!

We received similar rates last December and September and liked the hotel! I enjoyed the breakfast there too - I remember my daughter ate free but I am not sure what age a child has to be.

This is a great deal and enabled us to extend our vacation time.

nhmomx2 -- when I inquired about the rate for the Saturday before Labor day, the rate the quoted me was $99.00

I have stayed at the Courtyard in May 2000, May 2001 & will again on Sept 23 thru Oct 5 2002. The rooms are very clean, large, & nicely decorated (although not with our favorite mouse). It provides bus shuttle service every half hour to all 4 parks & the water parks. There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves a great breakfast buffet, including Mickey shaped waffles. Children 5 & under eat free & the adult meals are reasonably priced. There are 3 small heated pools ( 1 being a kiddie pool). there is also a whirlpool & a small playground. The staff is outstanding & will go out of their way to make your stay 100% wonderful. The Courtyard is also just down the street from the Downtown Disney Shopping Center. Last year while on a walk to the DTD shopping center we were able to watch a turtle in the pond at the Hilton lay eggs. It was a highlight for my 5 year old daughter. I don't mean to make such a long response to your question, but I can't say enough about the Courtyard & it's staff. I hope that I helped. Enjoy your visit!
