EXCELLENT place for dinner in Cocoa!

Lat week we spent the evening in Cocoa Beach prior to our embarkation on to the Magic. Our Bellman at Comfort Inn told us for great seafood to go to the "Florida Seafood Grille". It was on the road just North of RonJons and take it to the west. (Sorry don't remember the name or the road). It was the road to the causway across the river. The Florida Seafood grille was right at the river just before you get onto the causway.

It was Fantastic! They are know for their rock shrimp and you can get them in any dozen quantities and in about 6 different ways (scampi, broiled, garlic buttered, blackened, etc.) It was absolutely fabulous! I ate 3 dozen of those little guys blackened. Could probably have eaten another 2 dozen they were soo good! We also had "Gator Tail" - Excellent as well, crab cakes - Great, and one other that slipps my mind! It was a fun place, fairly large, well know for their rock shrimp. Very lively, noisy, decorated great, Excellent place for kids! They had a balloonist making all kinds of great stuff for kids. he seemed to be a regular.

Just thought I'd give my review. I would absolutely go back there again! It was a great way to start off our trip!

I think I know the place you are talking about.
During my last trip, we took our rental car over to Melbourne (about a 20 min drive from Cocoa)

There is an awesome rest. called "Conchy Joes" that came highly reccommend by local folks.

Oh my goodness! Another seafood winner!

Another good spot (if you are in a protein on the hoof mood) id Durango's Steak House.

It's on the site of the old "Mouse Trap", which was a big stomping ground during the heydays of the space program in the 60's & 70's.

It has a bunch of old space program memorabilia on the walls, which for someone who grew up there, is a really cool thing.

Another very good place.

It is in Titusville about 15 m North of Cocoa on US 1.

It is called Dixie Crossroads, be prepare for a wait if peak dning time. The BEST shrimp I have ever eaten!! I think it is on road numbered 50. ASK ANY LOCAL,,,,IT IS THAT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely Dixie Crossroads! My husband is a foodie and an excellent cook, so he reads all the cooking mags. This place was highly recommended in an article he read, so we drove all the way to Titusville from Orlando just to go to this place. Unfortunately I was 3 mos pregnant at the time and very quesy, but I ordered a shrimp meal that came with 17 jumbo shrimp! My husband ordered rock shrimp. It was excellent, but I just couldn't eat much at the time. We plan to go back one day, maybe even after our 4/29 cruise.

I was coming in to suggest Dixie Crossroads too. I will add that if you can get there during an off-peak time, you will be much better off. Otherwise, make a reservation, or be prepared to wait at least an hour!

Oh, now those little corn fritters of theirs are sounding really good

Just my own opinion ok so do not take to heart.

First off Conchy Joe's was shut down for a few days or so for many health violations - they are open now again and I sure do hope it is cleaner than when Norm and I stopped in there several months ago.

The Florida Seafood Grille is located at South Banana River Drive and Hwy 520 ----they are located right on the Banana river and tho I haven't been in there, I understand it is not only nice, but clean.

Third and most important --I do agree on Dixie Crossroad - they have been there for years and their food is excellent - most of all very clean
