Enjoy! The Wanyama Safari was WONDERFUL. Even more wonderful was that they charged us the concierge rate, which I wasn't expecting. Any questions on the safari, just ask.

Great photos! Makes me miss "home" even more.

We will have to do the Wanyama sometime. How was dinner at Jiko? Is the concierge rate offered to all DVC members?

Excellent pictures! Thanks for posting them. Yes, please tell us how the Jiko dinner was! :goodvibes

Great photos! Thanks for posting-hope we can get a August 09 reservation.

The Jiko dinner was great. There were ten people in total on our safari, I believe, and dinner had everyone sitting around the table. The table was a large one in the middle of the main Jiko dining room. We were a party of 2, and not big on communal dining, but it was much better than it sounds. In terms of food, they brought out a mix of 3 or 4 breads, 3 appetizers, 3 main courses (including the macaroni steak), and 3 desserts. There were 3 plates of each course for our safari. I am not a large man, but I eat quite a bit when I want to - unfortunately, there was still excess food at the end of the dinner.

One of the couples in the safari were vegetarian, so they were served their own special servings of each course. This contributed to the excess food, I think.

Also, three excellent wines were served - one each for appetizer, dinner, and dessert. Children were served juice, I think.

I don't know if all DVC guests are being charged concierge rate now - I didn't want to push my luck by asking.

18% gratuity was included in the price, by the way.

Awesome photos! I love seeing pictures of "home"! :goodvibes

It sounds like you had a great safari. I love your photos! Are you sure the zebra is laughing? It looks to me like he might be saying "Hello. I'm Mr. Ed." It also looks like he's overdue for a cleaning!

Your photos are amazing. Thanks so much. We are looking forward to our stay at AKV next month.

Thanks for sharing those awesome pictures! We will be there when Kidani opens up...can't wait:thumbsup2

Those are great photos. I really envy you being charged the concierge rate. I paid the full $210, without wine too! Don't you just love it when the curious giraffes come up to the truck?

WOW! Those are the best photos I have seen re: animals at AKL. May I ask, what camera/lens were you using?

Great pictures, now you have me wanting to do this safari. I know nothing about it. What is the cost and how is it booked? What is included? Can DVC members book it?
