EXCELLENT Alamo rate!

So should I be using the EB code as well? Has anyone been able to keep their ressie with the EB coupon & WM code

I have been waiting for someone to say they used the Wal-Mart code with the Entertainment coupon. I have a reservation with this combination for August. I have heard that Alamo doesn't let you combine like that, but their online system sure accepts it. When I used the Entertainment code with the coupon, my quote was much higher.

The coupon I have is an online coupon and doesn't even say where it came from.

Me too! I've been watching this thread and waiting too. I used Alamo in February and had a very, very good experience using them. I used the online $15 coupon, which has no contract code and used the walmart code (no problem at checkin). I wanted to use the entertainment coupon, but see that it specially says the contract code must be used with the coupon which results in a higher price. I, like you, have also heard that Alamo will not let you mix contract codes and coupons, so I've stayed away from that method so far. I have a trip in 2 weeks and again am using the $15 online coupon along with the walmart code for my daugther and the prepaid code for myself. I'll wait an see if anyone here has a problem mix and matching codes that specially say not to. (I would've added the entertainment code to my reservation since I didn't use the walmart code, but I did prepaid and can't modify without a fee--I got a mid-size SUV for $228 for 2 WEEKS, all taxes included, so am happy with that--less than $90 a week).

I combined these 2 offers and I leave in 18 days. I'll let you guys know what happens when I get back. I figure worse case scenario, I give them the coupon on their website for 15.00 off (d42c) instead of 25.00 off (d24c). I might have those backwards at this point. ;)

Don't have time to read, but I need a good rate for our December trip. I want to get something booked soon, since it will be holiday time. Anyone booked for December yet and what did you get? Codes? We want an SUV or Minivan

I'm excited and just really hoping that nothing goes wrong at check-in!! I love saving!! Hey, we may just cross paths adn not even know it! How funny!! Hope you all have a great trip!! :wizard:

I KNOW! It's awesome, isn't it??!! My rental for that same time period started out over $200 and is now a mere $115! :thumbsup2

Well, I just tried all the codes listed here for next week, and it saves me about $85 for the week. (297 to 209) As it was, I had a AAA discount anyhow. So this is a real good savings. This was on a full-size car, so I'm real happy with this info. Thanks. If I recall right, my very first reservation for this car when I first made it in Jan was almost double what I'm paying now.

airplane,

We'll be waiting to hear what happens. Can you please write something in your thread about Wal-Mart & Entertainment coupon so I don't miss it? With all the Delta news, this board moves quickly!

Thanks,
Sue

I'm lost:( We're going Sep. 22- 30 and I can't seem to get a rate below $187 with taxes. I've tried different combinations of those codes, but I'm totally confused. We just want a small car big enough to get us around. I don't need an SUV or minivan, but at this point whatever is cheaper works for me. I would be very happy to pay $150 or less. I'm not sure if I'm dreaming or not though.

Don't feel bad, while I had a great rate for my late April trip, I have not found a good rate for either my August trip or my October trip. Most coupons expire the end of May, so hopefully some summer deals will come out soon. I got my great rate about 3 months before my trip and the rates have been pretty good since. Watch the boards for any movement for late summer and fall, because someone will post.

with all these codes/coupons I dont know what i booked but i did get a suv for easter week in lax for $162 with tax. i printed out the coupon from somewhere and i just hope i didnt mix up the code with the coupon i also prepaid to get the extra 15% off. i wanted to even check in but with a coupon they wont let you check in over their website.

I'll post in this thread and I'll start a new one w/ the title alamo/walmart/entertainment code.

ok, i just want to say "Thank You" for bring the codes/coupons to my attention. I have to ressies one for Lax and the other for Las for easter/spring break. I just notice the Las rental was booked with the Entertainment $25 off coupon is which i did not have, so i rebooked my Las rental using the costco coupon is which i have and it came out to be the same price. Thank you again, i would have freaked out when asked for the Entertainment coupon that i would have not had and then i would have been charged the extra $25, yikes.
BE CAREFUL with the codes and coupons ;)

I have booked a suv for May 19 to May 26 using wal mart code (430710) and
alamo coupon code d24c. when i printed out the coupon to give them at the counter the contract id# was 7011339. Does anyone know if the id codes are going to matter? I called alamo and the girl I talked to said that those codes didn't matter, but i don't want to get stuck at the counter. the suv for the week is $132.08. Just wondering if anyone out there has had any experience in this? Also is there a card or something that i need to show at the counter for the walmart code, or is this just some unspoken code for walmart customers? thanks

I have been trying everything, every code and getting frustrated. I have reserved with National total $183.22 for a full size from May 6-13. Pickup at Dolphin drop off MCO. We would prefer an SUV so I am trying everything for Alamo with the codes in this thread. Could anyone please see if any thing comes up for them or is what I got as good as it will get? Thanks so much!!

I just saw that you wanted to pick up at WDW and then drop off at MCO, doing that adds $112 to this price, can you not pick up at mco?

I was just putting in your info and when I got the higher figure was wondering what I did wrong, then got your second posting. We were going to use ME when we arrive on Thursday the 4th. We dont need the car until Sat afternoon. So then we would add on 2 days to it and that may make the 112.00 not as much. I actually checked on my National reservation and the price went from 183.22 to 199.70 (for a full size) because my original reservation did not have new fee on it Hotel Concession Fee Recovery. So now the cheapest so far it Alamo Contract ID prepay Coupon D24C and Product Code PARW for a total for an SUV 201.75. I am wondering if that is as good as I am going to get. I also do not have a costco membership but I think in reading the posts Walmart works too. What do you think I should do? Thanks so much for taking time to help!

can one of you use DME to go back to the airport on Saturday?
I checked and Thursday pick up to sat return at MCO is only $167.00.. I think you should take DME back to the airport to pick up the car on Sat or take a taxi, but I am not sure how much that is.

I don't have the walmart codes because I have a costco membership so you should check that out!

We can't go ME back because we are changing to stay at a Marriott off site for 2 days. If we do Thurs. pickup it still saves $34.00. So I still think that is probably worth it to skip ME altogether and this way we have a car for 2 extra days. Thanks so much for the help!!

I agree. I love having my own car to use as I need, last time we had to make a run to a drug store as DH allergies were going crazy with the dust in our room, to buy that at WDW would have cost a fortune! so it really was better to have a SUV for the week.
Good luck!
