Day 2 (Fri 12/9) Cloudy but dry! Loaded the ECV into the trunk. It was in the trunk, out of the trunk many times on this trip and I was very happy DB was along to assist. Through the turnstiles at Epcot at 9 Am with season passes in hand and smiles on our faces. At this point DF did not know how many times he was going to say that season pass was worth every penny. The plan was Future World. The musts were Sorin and Test Track. I knew my DF would not take to Sorin but I had a silent hope for Test Track. DB and I agreed that since this trip was for our father we would let him set the pace and stop and look and marvel at anything he wanted. Turned out he loved watching the Fountain dance, the music, the landscaping, the people, especially the children, all of it.

Fast pass for Sorin. DB loved it. Said he could “loop” around this ride all day. Ellen’s Universe was a hit. We did the land ride, had lunch at Season’s and this was the first of many comments by DF on how good the food was and not really “that expensive for what you get and the flavor”. Took in the Living Seas, more enjoyment for DF.

By the time our Fast pass was open for Test Track my DF announced he wanted to go too. I flashed back to the monorail experience. Amazing! This is the former stock car driver in him talking. Through out the morning any time we were in proximity of test track DF would look up and listen and ask questions. We hoped his curiosity with the “speed factor” would win, It did. He stepped out of his comfort zone and was thrilled!

By 2 PM Rain! Made it back to the trunk before it began to pour and headed back to the resort. Rain did not let up so we stayed in. We ordered a Pizza from Giordano’s. What can I say. Bad, very bad decision.

Day 3 (Sat 12/10) Cloudy but dry and wonderful temps! Loaded up and headed for WS. The plan, again was to linger and look. What can I say? WS had the Wow factor for DF. We made it from Mexico to America on this day. My DF enjoys boat rides, So we hopped on El Tempo and to my DB and my amazement DF eagerly hopped aboard Maelstrom, because it was a boat. We had Egg rolls in China, circle vision, the acoustics in the center. Acrobats. DF got teary eyed during the Voices of Liberty. (Lunch in America) No Rain today so stayed for Tree Lighting and spent some time before leaving the park looking at the lights and the fountain dance to the tunes of Christmas.

This is the first day my father started commenting on how much you can see and do for the price. It finally sunk in that nothing was “extra”. We headed back to the resort, grilled some steaks and talked about the day. With my DB and I stealing looks of confidence that the plan was working, We were watching a new Disney fan in the making. I had not seen him this happy in a long time.

On to AK, the cp package, and illuminations! The WOW factor is still on for a first timer.
