I do the billing for an ambulance service and I'm trying to set up a spreadsheet and I'm stumped if it can be done the way I'd like.

Basically we log the run date, the name, the amount, payments, balance. The city then pays 40% of the balance split between the EMT's that went on the call, that's a column also. Previously I all the EMT's had a column in which their portion was divided and listed how much they would be paid for that call.

This is what I have it looking like now:

# Date Service Amount Paid Balance Amb 2/5 EMT EMT EMT EMT EMT EMT
1 1/4 Doe, John 674.50 674.50 269.80 Larson Johnson Smith Hanson

I wanted to simplify the look of the spreadsheet and move some of that information to a different worksheet. I created a dropdown box so that I could select the EMT name for that call. I have 5 columns set aside for this.

What's the best way to figure out thier pay and move it to a seperate worksheet? Have I completely confused you like I've confused myself?:confused3

You want to copy over the balance? Do the formula from the new worksheet, then when you select (click on) the items, switch back to the first sheet and click on those. Excel will automatically enter the sheet: formula for you.

If you have data sheets, so that you are not retyping I found a cool program that will take a PDF (can scan into PDF format) and plunk it into excel and a few other things. It saved me a ton of work retyping this week! PM me if you want the name.

Not sure if I'm getting your question right but...if you need to move the EMT pay to a seperate worksheet you could try having worksheets behind your original one, one worksheet for each EMT, then do a cell reference that brings in the data from the original worksheet. To do this type an "=" in the cell and then click on the original worksheet, then click on the cell that you want to show up in the second worksheet. Hope I didn't confuse you. PM me if you need more info.

Sorry, it was difficult for me to explain exactly what I want.

Basically we have 14 EMT's, instead of having each of their names in a column and indicating their amount for each run, with a tally at the bottom, I created a drop down menu's for each run where I could select the EMT's that went. Generally there are 2-3 on each run. Each run can pay differently because the mileage will vary. I wanted somehow to indicate on a different worksheet/worksheets (thanks ScorpioJeni, that's a great idea for seperate sheets for each EMT), the amount they were paid for each run and have it tally.

I do have someone that PM me and I sent her what I was looking at...so hopefully that will help.

Nothing was wrong with the old way, just looking for something cleaner.
