It sounds like you have started out insulting debate board participants rather bluntly, if I may so. Again, if you do not wish to debate, ignore those subjects. Also, from the title of your post, I thought that you had some top secret knowledge that the rest of us were lacking.

So what is it's purpose, except to upset those who used the DB in the way it was intended,, and now feel adrift? Seriously? This seems to be a red flag being waved at those who enjoyed the DB, and now feel displaced.

So just do what I do. If I am reading through a topic and it seems to be going into major debating I stop reading and I don't respond. I actually would like to, but I just can't debate my point as well as some of them. They have all these links and facts and I just have my opinion..usually based on nothing!

I have never gone to the debate board, but I have read some of them that have started here. From what i have seen they are not bad, they seem to be following the guidelines and some of them are very interesting.

I think it is TOTALLY rediculous to take away the debate board. If people didn't follow the guidlines then get rid of them but keep the debate board. Maybe it got out of hand once in awhile but then again that will happen when people are debating certain issues. For the people out there that didn't like the debate board all I have to say is that nobody was forcing you to view it.
I think it was a mistake by the Disboards to take the debate board away and leave the community board. Both have nothing to do with Dis planning so why single out the debate board?

Well, I for one am one of those who really didn't like the DB and was *not* happy to see the debates moved here.

BUT...

I have to admit that so far, every debate I've seen and actually opened has been kept within guidelines (at least on the first page) and handled well. And I *really* appreciate when people post DEBATE in the title so I know before opening it that it will be a debate.

So I, for one, have been impressed by the debaters who were forced into "our" home.
