I have been parasailing before, and I know that it is incredibly wonderful. I have never been parasailing at WDW before.
For all you who have done it.......please tell me.......how far did you get up in the air, and what was your view ?

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I too would like to know! Maybe we'll try it on our next trip!

The view is GREAT! Loved it! They take you up 450' in the air, so you are above just about everything. We could see every park at WDW and many buildings off in the distance. Because the boat is doing circles on the lake, you get a 360 degree view of the layout of the land. Great fun and well worth your time. -HM

Forgive my ignorance, but how do you get down from the parasail? I understand how it's like a kite, and you are pulled up aloft as the boat moves forward, but then when the boat slows down, do you sort of glide down? How do you make sure you land where you're supposed to land?

We parasailed at Castaway Cay and they actually pulled us in with the rope that is attached to you. That is also how you are "sent" out. They reel you out as they speed up and the wind takes you up. And as they begin to slow down (although I don't know how fast they can really go there) they begin to reel you in and they watch and guide the boat so that you land back on it. That's how they did it at CC anyway - I would imagine it would similar. But I'd be interested in knowing as well.

Yep, you're right. You are slowly "reeled" in until your feet finally touch down on the back of the boat . . . gently, I might add.

My MIL (who is totally blind and 72 yrs old) was able to do this on our last trip. She went tandem with a friend and absolutely loved it, even though she couldn't see a thing. Said she loved the feeling of freedom.

She's such a card, though . . . she kept bouncing up and down in the harness and nearly scared her friend to death . . . . . . :teeth:

You get a very nice view from up there of the top of the Magic Kingdom and you can seel EPCOT and MGM to some degree. It is a very fun expierence and I would recommend it. The view of the Magic Kingdom was similar to the view from the sky cars or cable cars, i.e., you see the top of all of the attractions.

Went parasailing in Bahamas last year. I had an inexpensive, disposable waterproof camera, 4 exposures left over after snorkling. Sent the camera up with a 17y/o, it had a rubber band strap, which he put around his wrist. He captured the most incredible photos of the beach and resorts. This would probably work great for MK, and Bay Lake resorts.:D
