Hi everyone,

I have a questions about the timing of the purchase of a resale. I sent in my closing documents and payment on July 9th and still haven't heard anything yet. I e-mail around the end of July just to make sure nothing was wrong but they said everything was fine, they were waiting on the seller. Well now it's almost the end of August and I haven't heard anything. I e-mailed again but haven't gotten an e-mail back yet. I was wondering if anyone elses contract has taken this long or if this is just standard.

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

purchase of a resale. I was wondering if anyone elses contract has taken this long or if this is just standard.

Thanks,

My whole process from soup to nuts took 5 weeks or so. My complete timeline in reverse order was:

5/12/07 - Showed up on MS Computers, but no points showing, later in day a helpful CM put them in manually herself and I could book first reservation;

5/9/07 - Closed (Not in DVC system yet, I called to check); 5/4/07 - Seller signed and mailed in paperwork (closing agent emailed scans
of all the paperwork);

5/2/07 - Buyer Mailed in Check and paperwork;

5/1/07 - Buyer Recvd Closing paperwork;

4/11/07 - Passed ROFR;

4/4/07 - Submitted for ROFR.

Hi,

Your not alone! Counting myself you are the 4th person Ive read about in the last month that is having seller problems. 1 buyer actually extended the closing date by 10 days and still didnt close. They since went on to a different contract and started the whole process over again.
My seller didnt send in closing documents til closing day, the good thing was it only took 2 days to get in the Disney system and I was still able to make a ressie for the F&W Festival this Oct.

Check your original contract, it should have a closing date on it. If you are past that date, I would stop the emails and call your agent to find out your options at that point. If you are before your closing date, sorry but you have to wait. Good luck with whatever happens!!!

Unfortunately, that's me. If you used The Timeshare Store item #1 on the initial Deposit Receipt and Contract for Sale and Purchase should state "This contract sall be closed on or before mm/dd/yyyy, unless extended by otehr provisions of the contract." Also, in the closing documents the instructions to buyer has your closing date listed about 3/4 of the way down the page-"To ensure a prompt closing please have this paackage returned to our office by mm/dd/yyyy." Our closing date was 7/23/07. When I got home from work that day I had a message from Jamie (who is WONDERFUL!) that they hadn't gotten the documents back from the seller and had not been able to get ahold of him. And it was up to me at this point. I could give it a little more time or start over. She was not concerned at this point so I decided to wait a little longer. It had taken the seller about 2 weeks to send the initial contract back in the beginning, so I wasn't surprised at this point if he was dragging his feet. Well, 10 days later (I'm surprised I waited that long) I said forget it and made an offer on another contract. I think in that 10 days I was contacted about 4 times by The Timeshare Store. They never just left me hanging and really helped me decide what to do. So, check and see if your closing by date has passed yet or not and good luckpixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

We just closed on the 14th, after receiving paperwork on July 27th.(Which I guess compared to the rest of your stories was quick) We too were waiting on the sellers. We mailed our check and signed documents July 30th and even sent an email to the closing agent asking the sellers to respond quickly. According to the agent, they were in a hurry as well, but didn't get around to sending in their paperwork until the 14th. I would've thought they wanted their money fast.

Now its just painful waiting to get in the system! :rolleyes1

Well, I am waiting for our closing docs to come. They were supposed to be to us Monday, but Disney has not sent the Estopple info yet. We are at 29days post-ROFR today. Robert from TTS sent an email today to inform us of this. I already knew this because I had contacted TCS earlier in the day. I appreciate that Robert checked in with us, though.

So, someone light a fire under Disney for me ok??? Just kidding.

Maybe I will get lucky and they will email my docs to me tomorrow??? It could happen... or maybe I watch too many Disney movies?

:lmao:
